I'll put this hear, seeing he's the one who did most to bring it about.
The Washington Post
@washingtonpost.com
The White House Office of Management and Budget alerted federal agencies Friday morning to prepare for an imminent government shutdown, according to people familiar with the matter.
I say that there could be a very quick backlash, but the Republicans shut down the government in 2013 and then cleaned up in 2014.

The Speaker saying he thinks there'll be a deal now.
Never noticed this chap before. Like it. But doubtless this'll be an example of "lost civility" or something.
Florida’s Democratic representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost criticized the GOP’s reported plans to cut spending next year, saying:
There is no way to cut $2.5tn in spending unless you make cuts to social security, Medicare and Medicaid.
He went on to add:
My parent’s social security check should not be cut to pay for President Elon Musk’s massive billionaire tax cuts.

There’s no point trying to pigeonhole him in terms of political power, because he doesn’t even really care who’s in charge - it just so happens when the cunts are in charge they tend to let him do what he wants in exchange for a bung.
The nearest to what America has to a sane public intellectual Neil deGrasse Tyson points out that Musk’s fortune isn't enough to touch the sides for a mission to colonise Mars. Governments only step in for geopolitical reasons like getting to the Moon before the Commies after they beat Uncle Sam into space. Unless Musk bankrolls a fucking moron into the White House who'll hand him over a multi trillion Dollar blank cheque to send Space Force to Mars.

What is Elon Musk’s game ? What is he trying to achieve ? Is he really controlling Trump? Why is he taking such an active interest in UK politics, while simultaneously displaying boundless ignorance about any and all aspects of UK politics and society?
Does he actually want to see Nigel Farage installed in 10 Downing Street as PM ? I can’t see that happening.
Answers on a cyber-Postcard, if you please.

It could be that when you're so massively rich that you couldn't even spend the interest on your wealth as quickly as you make it, you can do whatever you want. And if you're a nasty, reactionary piece of grudge-bearing work then what better place to cause mischief than in the homeland of democracy?

He doesn’t have enough money to build bases on Mars, he needs governments in his pocket to bung a few trillion his way. Not just Trump but promising Germany and UK thousands of space jobs if Farage or the AfD are elected. It will come with an eye watering bill for the tax payer but these rogues will pay it if Musk propels them to power. Though I doubt his millions will accomplish this.

This twat is clearly so high on his own supply that he doesn't seem to know that Farridge literally owns the organisation from which he demands he should be toppled as leader.
What a fool. And people trust him to send them to Mars?

Over the last few weeks Musk has been reposting lots of Tweets from Reform some of which have been fairly obscure like Andrea Jenkyns joining Reform. Either Musk or one of his flunkies have spent an awful lots of time scouring Twitter for these stories or someone at Reform have been giving Musk's team the heads up when new posts have been posted. It will be interesting to see if Musk keeps reposting Reform stories in the next couple of weeks.

I wouldn't trust him to go and buy me a Mars bar.

Obviously both Musk and Farage are loathsome, but as Reform are a Ltd company it’s entirely possible Musk could buy it and ‘fire’ him. Which would be hilarious.
(Farage is currently the majority shareholder, but only by 3%. They’re all backstabbing shits so this would probably only be a minor impediment)

Sorry to be “that guy”, but it’s the space year 2025 and we’re all supposed to be woke snowflakes here. Can we not use slang for spastic as an insult please?
Ta.

Not to be outdone by Jenrick and keep her hand in with the Trump clown circus, Truss is her usual vile unhinged self.
