The BBC: now giving free publicity to a wart on the end of the todger of the scientific community that's got column space in that bastion of scientific rigour, The Daily Express:

Anti-lockdown scientists call for social distancing to end in June
The last paragraph concedes that the BBC's own Health Correspondent thinks it's rubbish, but how many people will read that far?

And following on from all this:
A police leader has said officers deserve greater protection after eight of them were injured during an anti-lockdown protest in central London on Saturday. Demonstrators hurled bottles as police attempted to disperse the crowds in Hyde Park following a march and rally.

The Met said two officers were taken to hospital, although their injuries are not believed to be serious.
Apparently the Met tweeted their thanks to the protestors for being peaceful.

Yes: It's essentially saying "My having to wait for a haircut is equivalent to your 6 million murdered".

I can think of a few instances where wearing it makes sense.
1. Showing solidarity on Holocaust remembrance day (etc).
2. You're the King of occupied Denmark and want to own the fash.
3. There's been a bit of a rethink over football fans use: I understand it started as "We're here and we won't hide", but both Spurs and Ajax fans got a bit over-excited, and have now toned it down.

Don't go there. It withers the soul.

Just wait and watch.

I confess that in my head I'm maybe not as good a person as I could or probably should be. Sometimes it escapes.

I know.
I used to deal with child and sexual abuse cases as well as everyday bullying and life-wrecking and the anger had to escape somehow. I tried to channel it into some sort of justice. Sometimes I was disappointed. It took a long time to get over it. It wasn't nice.

Do you know that if a teacher discovers sexual abuse and continues to work with the kid, their social worker gets counselling but the teacher doesn't...

I think it's getting to all of us.

I've sat and seethed as "top men" have lied, lioed about lying and got away with it.
Shielded by the press that claims to exist to expose their wrongdoing.

I've even mentally crossed the line, recalling a conversation with a Libertarian colleague form the USA.
His claim was that life was more civil when it was less regulated, harking back to days of what we'd now call "summary justice".
The wrong voice in my head occasionally suggests to me "We'd have a lot less of this is somebody stabbed that guy".

I know it's wrong, and I know where it leads (we don't win).
But it illustrates the seductive power of simple solutions.

You could tell him that civility conducted at arms length because everyone's wary of being shot/stabbed if they give or take offence isn't that great. Or that the wild west was more tightly regulated than the modern American west when it came to handguns. Westerns are not documentaries.
