Because that is an utterly childish thing to post.

Well not being him I can't say for certain but it's around late to mid thirties.

This is the whole point, TWA. A man who wears an IDF top to wind up Palestinians at a peaceful demo is *not* going to look at a piece of satirical art poking fun at Netenyahu objectively.

So as I’ve said many times, if you still want to think it’s anti-Jewish and anti-Israel despite the absolute lack of symbolism of either then that’s your choice. But this is like citing Farage as a source when talking about immigration - it damages your argument by association because there’s no way in hell they’ve considered what it might be representing for even a moment.

And pointing out why he’s an unreliable source is neither childish nor bullying. Either he is unaware of the impact of what he’s doing/saying (in which case we should also disregard his opinions on things), or he is a grown adult making decisions about publicly stating strong opinions (in which case his past actions are relevant context). What he can’t be is a valid commenter with strong opinions AND completely devoid of any responsibility or context.

Is Cold War Steve here, then? Is he me?

Without getting any further into this, extending the already lazy, bad-faith, unfalsifiable and fucking stupid idea that any criticism of Israel is inherently antisemitic onto the person of Benjamin Netanayhu isn't making it any less lazy, bad faith or fucking stupid.

And when we look up from the blood-filled gutter and whisper "save us", you and the rest of the Corbyn club will reply "no"?

Isaac Chotiner has, over the years, perfected an interview technique which, without Paxmanesque barking or any real, discernible hostility at all, gradually walks his subjects down a garden path leading to some pretty horrific admissions about themselves.

The Jacobson article which prompted this exchange is linked below, and worth reading first.

It's kind of telling how Palestinians like this aren't listend to by western pro-palestinians
I’m listening to them. I’m just not sure the entirety of the Gaza Strip deserves to be burnt to a crisp on account of the fact that some of its residents aren’t massive fans of Hamas.

Watching the journey of some of my friends on social media from 'Two state solution' a year ago to the verge of 'Drive Israel into the sea and kill all the Jews' now has been... I don't know...

Sad? Instructive?

I always thought the instinctive kneejerk reaction to Oct 7 amongst some on the left to march in support of Palestine was a bit tasteless and insensitive, but I'm starting now to see where that came from.
