The still seatless Seb Payne is also doing this bollocks.

Not only do the wages of these overseas graduates go up pretty quickly (consistent with non-native English speakers having to start in a lower job than they would otherwise) but they overlook the distinct possibility that not everybody goes straight into full time work.

I still don't get how what the swizz is supposed to be. Pay through the nose for a course, far more than home students, and then work for 2 years in a fairly low paid job? Not obvious that we're the ones being conned here.

Very convoluted way of saying "They come over here and they take all the jobs and they're all on benefits and they're doing Mickey Mouse degrees at jumped up polys in Harry Potter studies...".

Because that's all this is.

If you're young and healthy and leave after 2 years, you probably make a financial contribution, never mind any other type.

Someone BTL made a point that there probably are a fair few Common People-style students, who have done it at least partly because they want the cool student life experience, and may not be particularly focussed on maximising earnings. The OP saw no problem with this, and nor do I. At the very least, they're probably propping up a few restaurants. Anyway, I thought it was good if they didn't "take jobs away" from us Brits.

Alan Moore's V for Vendetta retirement village.

In the novel, everyone knows there's no actual retirement village. They assume it's a gas chamber or something.

In fact, it's not even that. Just a couple of thugs with lead pipes.

Wouldn’t expect any better from a Johnson crony
A Tory peer has resigned the government whip after he was found to have bullied and harassed two people while drunk.

Lord Kulveer Ranger, a former adviser to Boris Johnson, faces being banned from the House of Lords bars following an investigation into his conduct. https://news.sky.com/story/tory-peer-re ... t-13137893
