That's - well, unbelievable for a politician with aspirations to office.

And quite possibly a breach of electoral law.

Then again, I'm sceptical all those Greens vote against Khan on the day.

Oddly enough the last poll they did they were almost neck and neck. Effectively though Khan doesn’t have a great rating, no one really knows who Hall is and the more she appears the less people like her.

I’d pitch the result around this from the data I’ve seen, though this is localised to a few spots.

2 new "police bases" in every borough? What does that mean? Police stations? Not cheap. And what is it with boroughs anyway? As long as there's a proper chain of command, who cares? This sounds quite expensive.

More CCTV on the Tube- can you give us an idea? If you still in one extra camera,, that's the promise met, right?

All while pissing away the ULEZ expansion money. Over £20m a month.

Which she is.
Ahem. A pedant writes : Susan Hall may be homophobic, but she is not a mayor - nor likely ever to be.

Yup. On the banks of the Thames.

Incredibly, they do it in Paris, too.

By not doing a sodding thing if elected. Which is one saving grace (?) about the current crop of Tories - if they weren’t so fucking bone idle, inept, and obsessed with lining their own pockets they could have been far worse.

I think the "police base" will be more like those old style light blue "call boxes".

https://www.londonontheground.com/post/ ... -favourite
The telephone in the police call posts could be accessed by the upper of their three doors. Helpfully, this door on the eight remaining call posts in the City now has a sign informing the public that it is no longer operational and advising: "Please use nearby payphone".

The middle door opened down like a bureau to provide a horizontal writing surface. Inside the bottom door was a storage cupboard, which contained a first aid kit and other items.

Some PCs in the Smithfield market area used these cupboards to store cuts of meat until it was time to go home at the end of their shift.

We used to have a 'Carshalton-sur-Mer' festivalette - until Covid. #1 son was musical director. But we didn't have any beaches as the Wandle is a bit small here.

Ah yes, the Christmas lights Catch-22.

Spend money on the fun stuff ("larks and parks" as my dad used to call it) and you're wasting taxpayers' money. Especially because the main direct beneficiaries will be everyone except the miserable bastards complaining.

Don't spend money on the fun stuff and you're a miser and what about the little kiddies, what price a bit of sparkle in their lives etc.
