Nice to see Policy Exchange on the big issues.

I'm not sure about this. I'd only heard of Parkrun in the context of "transgender controversy", so I've looked it up. My impression is that it's more of a fun/health thing than anything, with over a thousand local events. So having 3 records held by transgender athletes really isn't very much. But equally, there will be plenty of women athletes in those 3 events who do take it very seriously, and I can understand why they might be pissed off and why other people might be very sympathetic to them. In that respect, it seems like an unnecessary own goal to me. A compromise might be for the transwomen to race with women but not have records recognised.

But whatever, the idea funding could be pulled for any of this is absolutely batshit.

Parkrun is an entirely free event that is funded by a number of large businesses. I can't really see any of the sponsors pulling out because they know that Parkrun is a success story and the companies will want to stick with an event that generally generates god news stories. I follow lots of Parkrun discussions on Parkrun and I really haven't seen many people discussing this issue. People are more concerned about getting their milestone 'T'shirts on time and what kind of dog leads are allowed at different events.

Limiting Dan Wootton to men only spaces didn't restrict his offending.

Just whatabouting...
But with a heavy subtext that GB News is packed with presenters who identify as something that they're clearly not.
* Moderate centre right.
* Common sense speaker.
* Voice of the silent majority.
* Not a racist, but ....
* Public intellectual.

We could be wrong but neither do I see their core audience doing fun-runs, fun or running.

Done in the same breath as "...we should look after our homeless first!! (off-camera whisper) Pfff, I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were on fire."

Looking at the criteria for social housing applications in NI, it looks relatively complicated but to the best of my knowledge preference is generally given to those whom are already NI residents and hold UK of Irish citizenship. It is possible for non-UK or Irish nationals to get social housing, but they tend to be in places where "natives" don't want to be housed (mainly rural or other out-of-the-way locations), so they're not really making anyone born & bred in NI homeless.

I see that Neil Oliver (now the 'Conpiracy Gandalf') is teaming up with Russell Brand...

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/londone ... 31692.html
Are the GB News team set to be embroiled in another Russell Brand-based controversy? When comedian Brand was accused of rape and abuse by a number of women in The Sunday Times last year (he strenuously denies all these allegations), one of the channel’s presenters, Beverley Turner, called him a “hero” and said he was being “attacked” by the mainstream media.
A heated on-air debate ensued with her co-presenter Andrew Pierce, who described her comments as “shameful”. That seemed to put the issue to bed for the insurgent Right-wing channel. But now it emerges one of its star presenters, Neil Oliver, has been hosting Brand at his house in Stirling, Scotland. Brand posted this selfie online this week. Oliver, who once presented the BBC’s nature programme Coast, now proudly calls himself “conspiracy Gandalf”.
