Sunak’s troubles began as soon as he re-appointed Braverman as Home Sec. immediately after Truss had sacked her for breaching the ministerial code.

Moorhouse is right - he’s painted himself into a corner and he only has himself to blame.

Sadiq ticks so many gammon rage boxes (Muslim, liberal, woke, pro EU, former labour rights and civil liberties lawyer) they fail to see why he’s still more popular than his two mayoral predecessors. And don’t like the answer one bit because it’s one even these knuckleheads can understand; a slightly dull but likeable safe pair of hands who gets on with the job. That’s how politics should be and is what normal people who don’t obsess about culture war bollocks want.

Yes, the absurd old “(s)he’s only saying what most people are thinking” bollocks is so tired and so tedious. There was a total half-wit, regrettably Scottish, trotting it out again in respect of the hamster-faced fascist in the Question Time audience last night.

Apparently it’s about time the Home Secretary stood up and told the police what to do. Imagine how long that idea would last if it impinged on the lives of ‘the silent majority’ even in the most trivial way. ‘We may as well be living in Nazi Germany,’ said Roy Gammon after being stopped and breathalysed at a police checkpoint.

Rather than "saying what everybody's thinking".

It looks as through she's constructed a dishonest narrative from the building blocks of the great replacement theory.
* Hate Marches - because they're "not like us" - with a double helping of projection.
* The Cenotaph - activate the "deniable street fighter" faction, on the basis of a lie.
* Armistice Weekend - classic nationalist overreach. Invent traditions that never were, to other those who don't acceptably conform.

And if it all kicks off it's "Nothing to do with me guv!", while you wheel out your pre-prepared Reichstag Fire response.

I am just hoping that the march tomorrow goes off without a hitch, and the biggest shocker is some EDL twat pissing up the side of the Cenotaph. Because those bastards are crying out for a riot.

So again, Sunak has let it be known that he has "full confidence" in his Home Secretary.

It's a bit like the frequently observed scenario of the chairman of a struggling football club saying he has full confidence in the manager days before that manager is out the door with his sandwiches wrapped in a road map.
