Host Wootton, who could be seen laughing at points as Fox spoke, issued two statements apologising on X, calling the remarks "totally unacceptable" and saying he had reacted "out of shock".

He continued: "Having looked at the footage, I can see how inappropriate my reaction to his totally unacceptable remarks appears to be and want to be clear that I was in no way amused by the comments."

There's two possible explanations. Well, there's three, but "Wooton is well liked, popular, brings in a huge audience and is too big to fail" is obviously just fucking stupid.

He's either got enough dirt in the locker to bring the whole shitshow down (either his own actions being tied to the channel, or direct extortion of his bosses for their behaviour) or he's being looked out for because he has something else (probably a big story about someone else) that could be deployed in extremis to take the heat off.

My take on it is because Martin Brann... sorry, Dan Wooton has made a half-arsed apology (that also makes himself look like an unprofessional eejit) because he knows he's fortunate that GBeebies will otherwise defend having him on their broadcasts despite all the current allegations against him. If he was taken off the air along with the earnings that come with it the chances of him slipping into another UK wingnut welfare role that would give him at least the same prominence & pay that he currently enjoys is close to zero (worth noting that the M**l seems to have silently dropped him). So he knows where his bread is buttered, especially with his recent GoFundMe getting nowhere near enough for his liking. OTOH KGBN is a part time side hustle for Fox - whom from the couple of clips I've seen of him there would struggle to read an autocue if his life depended on it - that is otherwise likely independently well off enough not to need to the money, in getting suspended/fired gets the opportunity to play the "free speech"martyr card for even being too hot for GBN to handle. Wins all 'round for Fox as far as he's concerned, plus he gets to put the "Who'd shag that?" phrase into the lexicon for pub bore cunts and dirty old men.

As it ever was. Thin line between "Tits oot" and "No daughter of mine is going out dressed like that". While lambasting the Muslims for covering their women up. With the carnival, there's the idea of black people being savages, incapable of curtailing their base desires.

Both are manifestations of the very fucked up approach to sex from the British media/people. Stop funding hate have published a list of companies who had adverts in the ad breaks in Wottoon's show last night. I can honestly say I've not heard of any of the companies listed which would suggest the channel is really scraping the barrel when it comes to attracting advertisers.
