GB News talking head crank here has the hump with MPs who walked out of Andrew Bridgen's speech. Andrew Mitchell has been fingered elsewhere as the ringleader.

This is a threat to democracy, apparently. Because democracy is having to listen to any old rubbish that a backbencher spouts. Bridgen has gone a bit further than "vaccine harms" anyway. He was on to the US Defence Deparment making the virus in Canada the other day.

And I, on the other hand, want to live in the sort of democracy where elected representatives don't spout demonstrable bollocks, or if they do, are no-platformed, and disciplined a bit more than just having the whip removed. The intended audience walking out and ignoring the twat is a step in the right direction.

Will Ms.Samuels be willing to remain in her seat if I wave my cock in front of her face? It's a form of "Free Speech" innit?

And in a much less puerile manner, "Freedom of Speech" has never meant the right to an audience. Bridgen is entitled in his right as an MP to make a statement in the HoC but he's absolutely no right to compel anyone to listen to it.

Oh, this is quite *fabulous*. I could have predicted some twat attempting to draw a “Tony got off, so why not Boris?” parallel, but I really couldn’t be arsed. Big Jacob can, of course, and that too was so utterly predictable. It’s only been 20 years, after all, and of course, Big Jacob was with Jeremy Corbyn at the time.

Tony Blair faced no Iraq War charges, yet Boris Johnson faces the privileges committee for looking at cake, says Jacob Rees-Mogg

If memory serves, the last time members of any faith directly impeded those of another faith from attending worship was the Harryville protests back in the nineties.

Don't remember much in the way of imans kicking around there

Having spent more time than I'd consider worthwhile listening to fundangelical types, they probably don't consider 90-odd percent of Christian sub-cults as proper Christians for most purposes, starting with the Catholics but gradually moving out to "everyone who's not in this room with me, right now, except him". Bit of fun and games that they can suddenly declare they're all true members of the faith when it suits

Used to be that every village in France had a sign when you entered the village giving the times of Mass. Often they also had directions to an Anglican church, noted as 'la culte Anglais'. Assuming that wasn't a spelling mistake they consider Protestantism a cult but by some sort of choplogic Catholicism isn't...

'Twas ever thus, I'm afraid.

Catholicism - God loves you but all dealings with Him need to be through an intermediary who has sworn off some profane things in order to be a bit closer to heaven.

Lutheran Protestantism - everyone has a personal relationship with God. The church and priest thing is purely there as a facilitator.

Calvinist Protestantism - God's got two lists. You're on one of them. You'll not know which list until it's too late. Good luck, not that luck applies.

Anglicanism - woohoo, we're special, or more to the point our king is. And who the fuck does the Pope think he is, telling Englishmen they can't dump their wives?
