Re the parents refusing a blood transfusion; I’m not a medic so may be be wrong, but I’m assuming that at least one parent would be a blood match, and by their stance it would be in-vaccinated blood, so what’s the problem

On Thursday morning the parents said... that they would not appeal against the decision, and would prioritise a “peaceful time with their baby until the operation, and to support him through the operation”.

But later that day, Justice Ian Gault was forced to issue a minute ordering the parents to allow the doctors’ to make preparations for the surgery, after the health service reported they were obstructing staff taking blood tests, performing a chest X-ray and performing an anaesthetic assessment.

Gault pointed out that the issue of the surgery itself had not been in question in the original matter, but now the parents “evidently do not consent to the surgery or pre-operative checks” and he would therefore need to make further orders to enable the surgery to proceed.

As the small person needs this operation to prevent premature death, could the Kiwi Kops not arrest the parents on suspicion of attempted murder? I'm not saying they should go through with charging and prosecuting them, but an uncomfortable spell "helping the police with their enquiries" might give the silly twats a wake-up call.

A pub stripped of its licence for opening during a coronavirus lockdown has lost a two-year legal battle.

Paul Henderson repeatedly opened the Porky Pint in Billingham in protest against Covid-19 restrictions.

Stockton Council revoked his licence to serve alcohol and now the High Court has upheld that decision.

Mr Henderson, who has been ordered to pay almost £11,000 costs, has been approached for comment by the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

In the court's judgment, Mr Justice Fordham, sitting at the High Court in Leeds, said complaints had been made to the council about a lack of Covid-19 control measures at the pub when Stockton was in tier two restrictions, with indoor meetings of two or more people banned except for wedding receptions of up to 15 people.

'Human rights breach'

The Porky Pint hosted a wedding reception with 30 guests on 30 October 2020, the judgement said.

It was also open as a pub days after more Covid-19 regulations required pubs to close and banned on-premises food and drink sales in November 2020, the court heard.

A licensing officer walked in and was asked if he wanted a drink, and people were seen drinking, hot food being served and a TV showing sport.

Mr Henderson told police he was not required to close the premises and felt social distancing and track and trace were a breach of his human rights, the judge said.

Days later, the pub was operating again with five drinkers removed by police officers

An anti-vaccine protester who accused former health secretary Matt Hancock of murdering people during the COVID pandemic has been found guilty of harassment and ordered to stay away from him.

Geza Tarjanyi, 62, from Leyland in Lancashire, shoulder-barged Mr Hancock and "shouted ridiculous conspiracy theories" on two separate occasions on 19 and 24 January.

Senior district judge Paul Goldspring said Tarjanyi "deliberately intimidated and harassed" the MP.

He ordered Tarjanyi not to approach or contact the MP for three years.

The judge also gave Tarjanyi an eight-week prison sentence suspended for two years. He must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £930 plus a surcharge of £128...
