Thing is, on this occasion Corbyn is right. It happens.

The 2019 manifesto isn't some dark and terrible secret. Anyone can read it. However, many prefer to be told what's in it rather than find out. And crucially, believe what they're told.

So Mordaunt has basically said they'll break commons protocol and make shit up because they can.

There to draw fire, but disposable without a second glance.
The trouble is that's now how the loons on the backbenches see Braverman. They see her as the opposite of disposable. And she's not really drawing all that much fire from cuddly Sunak.

John Crace’s tongue-in-cheek theory as to why Sunak u-turned on COP attendance is worryingly probably true.
So there was no chance for Rish! to plan ahead for his day trip to Cop27 on Monday. Not that he needed time to mug up on climate change. He’d already made clear he had little interest in that. No, his main concern was that he got more photo ops with other world leaders than his arch-rival, Boris Johnson. Hint: that just wasn’t going to happen.

Even though Macron, Biden and co know The Convict is totally amoral, they’d rather spend time with him than with a no mark like Sunak. Someone who couldn’t be counted on to still be in office by Christmas. The UK is now officially a world laughing stock. Here’s the thing. While there may be any number of Tory multiverses where manifesto promises are both kept and broken, there are none in which the government is even halfway competent. A connecting synapse in cabinet is a wish too far. We have gone from full on Trussterfuck to completely Sunakered in a heartbeat.

I assume all other attendees will be thinking, who exactly is representing “the Brits”, I thought the blonde guy we used to talk to got dumped, and now there’s also this geek- guy who doesn’t seem interested

This is like watching a 90s Ashes video. "By the time the sides moved on to the final test at the Oval, England had used 60 players in the series. And they had to add another 3 on the morning of this match after Graham Gooch and Nasser Hussain suffered broken fingers in the nets while facing very quick bowling from Devon Malcolm who twisted his knee in the process"

Reading the Guardian liveblog, looks like an abject performance by Sunak.

Not just evasions, but questions where (and I'm not talking about the greatest ever dispatch box performer here) Cameron would have given a nice detail of something happening, maybe near the questioner's constituency. "You ask about green training, there's an excellent scheme in I think the Honorable Lady's constituency, if not next door, and we want to roll that out more widely". These aren't at all hostile questions, they should be a gift to someone who knows their stuff. Sunak's response to such a question (from Theresa May) was "people can get funding under the lifelong learning account".

His PMQs performances are Johnson with better hair. He got the "BIGGEST VACCINE ROLLOUT EVAH" comment in on the first answer, the obligatory Corbyn comparison on the second... You don't even have to update the bingo card.

Either someone needs to get rid of Gove as his PMQs coach, or Sunak's completely ouf of his comfort zone if he can't give a controlled speech. Possibly both.

I'm reminded of the time Marcus Brigstocke was facing Melanie Phillips on Question Time, and said afterwards that it was so obviously an unequal contest that he didn't want to do anything that'd make him look like he was bullying her.

Vaccines are like the Brexit vote. Once was enough and we never need to repeat it.

Also, don't forget the "better than Johnny Foreigner" aspect. For a certain type of English man they'd chop their own cock off if they thought they could do it faster than a French man.
