Surely instructing, rather than banning?

It's called discipline, unity and a common message...

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of a great choice from our midst, a source of joy to young and old.

My dear brothers and sisters, Darren Grimes has been relieved of employment at GBeebies, finding out second hand from another journalist on the tweets.

I invoke the spirit of Sgt Maj. "Shut Up" Williams.
How we shall miss the bollocks that emanated from his gigantic university-dropout brane.

Sing, Lofty.

I can imagine (sue me Littlejohn) the headlines now:
Grimes pulled off: live on air
Tough on Grimes, tough on the causes of Grimes

To be clear, this is a deliberate proposed breach of safeguarding rules.

If a pupil (in this case a young adult) is transitioning it is not considered safe to break this news to parents, as it has often led to very negative outcomes. So the safeguarding guidance (which schools should and usually do take very seriously) says that in these circumstances the parents should not be asked. The aforementioned Good Christian said he would only use their chosen name if he got confirmation from their parents. That would be a breach of the safeguarding rules. For that you get fired.

Seems pretty clear to me that he didn't approve - to the extent that he was prepared to breach the student's right to confidentiality .

"When the biologically female 17-year-old A Level maths student requested to be referred to by another name and pronouns, the 59-year-old refused, then wanted to tell the student's parents about this but was not allowed.

The school’s guide to supporting transitioning students is said to state that staff should "maintain confidentiality and only tell others about the person’s trans status with their permission".

This put Mr Lister in what he described as "an impossible position". He told the tabloid: "‘I wanted at least to make sure that my student had parental support and was making an informed decision."

I think a number of teachers have pointed out that if the teacher did contact the parents he would be in breach of the schools safeguarding policy. If one of the parents had a history of violence the student would be in real danger if the teacher has basically outed the student to his/her parents.

Given that the student is nearly 18 the teachers argument about being protective is pretty hollow.

I would guess that like most teachers in their late 50's he is looking at a way to get out of teaching with a nice little pay off if possible.

No. He's a bigot who wants to control those he feels are inferior to him.

It's extremely troubling that someone working so closely with children is affecting to be ignorant that the most likely source of child abuse is the parents

Another of those "hurty tweets" stories, huh? Perhaps.

Perhaps not- the alleged victim has claimed that her address was posted by the lovely Ms Farrow, and that the Police called her saying they were aware of a credible arson threat. Farrow is also said to have called the alleged victim a paedophile and accused her of stalking her daughter.
