Have to say that you really do have to admire the professional abilities of some journalists in a situation like this. Anita McVey has just spent a full 20 minutes waiting for, and talking about, a box in a car being driven out of a gateway.

Getting rather worrying over there on the Island, isn't it?

The mood seems to be changing. The non-fanatics seemed largely to be ignoring the whole palaver but now, the odd few have become so tired with the mandated grief that they are having a bit of a grumble.

Fair dos, one might think. Nope, they are headed for the cells. I am not entirely sure that that is the way to quell the frustration and it could get really nasty.

Not far from here, the track used for a motorcycle race was sabotaged with oil and dead rats, and the names of any riders who dared participate published on social media by people implying strongly that they like their bobble hats a little longer than most.

Absolute fucking lunatics

The coverage has morphed from mourning the Queen to that of relentless pro-monarchy. I wonder why so many adults kow-tow, defer, bow and courtesy to this privileged family of their own free will. Why do they think other people are better human beings than they are? Charles sat on a gold throne a few months ago telling the country how hard they are going to have it financially for the foreseeable. Why are millions of adults, many of whom live pay day to pay day, or much worse, okay with this? They are intolerant to any criticism of the Royal Family yet are the most vicious of all, as Harry & Meghan can attest. Why are intelligent adults camping in the street for days in advance of seeing a coffin travelling past?

Further to my opening comment on my previous post, on BBC1 for 4 hours now is "HM The King in Northern Ireland". That's nothing directly concerned with mourning the Queen such as coffin watching or watching people have a nosey of the coffin ("file past to pay respect" they tell themselves and others). And next year we will have the umpteenth "once in a lifetime" (the go to cliché of every Royalist) Royal event when Charles gets crowned.

I've a feeling the BBC is pulling out all the stops because they know they'll get crucified if they put just one foot out of place. Some of you may remember the 2012 jubilee when they were castigated for acknowledging - just once for a minute or so in 4 days - that not everyone was into this monarchy malarkey.

Same as how at Christmas the BBC are expected to come up with new content (and be slagged off for not showing family favourites) or stick to the old favourites (and be slagged off for just putting on a load of repeats) while ITV1 can get away with the Chase and an old Bond film.
