Midterms could now be pretty crazy.
A glorious day for the MAGA chuds, more lib-owning than they could ever have imagined. Cuz that's all that matters, am I right?

Fingers crossed this will, electorally speaking, eventually come to be regarded as a catastrophic victory for the GOP and their evangelical chums. A fate which hopefully also awaits the Tory Brexit charlatans in this country, too.

Interesting that "Loving vs. Virginia" isn't on that list to be "reconsidered". ;)

Praise be for the preservation of miscegenation.

Had a furious argument with someone on another forum whose basically decided this is all the fault of the Democrats. as Hilary ran a terrible campaign and they could have codified it under Obama ( They couldn't have). Also the current Dem leadership need to do something (He won't say what just blathers about optics) In short he's being a real pain in the arse about this.

I’m seeing lots of this nonsense right now as well. Drives me absolutely barmy.

On a music forum I frequent, the general consensus seems to be “Fuck Obama, fuck Hilary, and especially fuck RBG”. Frickin’ idiots.

I know and what is often forgotten is that forgotten is that Obama only had a supermajority for a few months

Every time I read something about abortion in the USA (and I've read a fair bit), I keep having to remind myself that these are events in a foreign country which have, in reality, nothing whatsoever to do with us here in the UK and which make absolutely no difference to my life or anyone else here. It irritates me that our news outlets report it as if it does and I'm annoyed at myself for encouraging it.

Except in reality they have everything to do with here, when Liam Fox and Nadine Dorries will use this ruling to show the 'rightness' of their cause. The right's instinct towards social control is no less strong here.

The Atlantic Bridge movement is strong in the Tory right.

Once conceived to strengthen our place in NATO.
More recently it went full Fox/MAGA in the home that a Trump/Johnson double header would deliver a Libertarian / 51st state Brexit.

Biden showed up in the nick of time to thwart that, but the links through the likes of Murdoch and Bannon are still strong.
Fox and Gove are leading players in the movement.

I'm not saying it can't happen here but one difference between here and America is that in America there is a large evangelical movement over there which here we don't have.
