General response was that Johnson is a cunt, but give Corbyn a rest, he isn't coming back, and Starmer needs to stop fucking about andput the boot in.

I increasingly get the impression that Corbyn is being ill served by his fanclub. Most people would probably by now have developed either a grudging respect or mild level of affection for him having forgotten the worst of his reign, were it not for the constant background whine from the usual suspects that he was actually the best thing ever and we’re a load of Tory bastards for not unquestioningly supporting his every decision, which in turn is a reminder of all the reasons why he is actually a man of selective morals, questionable intelligence and judgement, and a big fan of cronyism and nepotism.

He’ll never achieve elder statesman status because his own inability to reel in his most frothing acolytes means we now have constant reminders of how very fucking awful he was. Which is poetic justice I suppose.

Compare and contrast - Corbyn and Michael Foot. Admittedly, Corbyn isn't fit to be mentioned in the same breath either as a man, a Socialist or a politician, but both were disastrous leaders and were responsible for humiliating defeats. The difference is that Foot, as John Major put it, knew when to leave the stage and as a result gained respect from all sides and left an honourable legacy.

Like Squealer Jones, Tom Clark has a pathological hatred of the current leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer, and has been writing screeds and screeds of frankly unhinged diatribes all but proclaiming Starmer to be the spawn of Satan himself. Almost none of what he writes is true, and it’s getting to the point where I’m beginning to think an intervention on mental health grounds might be the best thing for him right now. In his latest Facebook rant, he has pivoted slightly to get the exceptionally capable Wes Streeting (a “lamentable wax-faced mannequin”) in his sights. I believe he really does have a Jeremy Corbyn hot water bottle.

I think I read him once or twice many years ago and filed him under "tedious twat". It's like reading a version of "Anonymous" under Fenton's blogs. I thought he had a domain though and a website, not just a Facebook presence?

Does anyone else commemorate lost elections? Did Ted Heath commemorate losing the February 1974 election (when he got more votes but fewer seats than Labour). "I was inspired by the Who Governs? campaign that I headed, and had I won by a street, we'd have solved in industrial relations in a much better way than Mrs Thatcher".

I'm still waiting to hear about this Brexit which (the EEA ruled out) wouldn't have dumped us in lots of the same slow growth shit we are in now.

It is, of course, bollocks - as he says, the Jezzites plough the furrow that centre = right and eveyone who isn't them is a Tory ad nauseum, yet presumably they would all have fallen under the great man's spell.
