Don't panic! The Prime Minister isn't worried, so we shouldn't be.
Almost nine million people, representing one in six adults in Great Britain, have not been able to buy essential food items in the past two weeks because they were not available, official research suggests.

According to an Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey, 17% of adults could not buy some of the grocery products they needed between 22 September and 3 October, reflecting the widespread impact of supply chain disruption and labour shortages.

Nearly a quarter of respondents (23%) told the ONS they had not been able to purchase other essential non-food items...

Just a blip as we transition to the high-skill high-wage floodlit wetlands of rainclouds and Unimogs.

There's more to Christmas than eating, drinking and spending to excess.
Tice and Oakshott won’t be having a Christmas of spartan holy reflection. Just telling people who have no choice that they should.

I find it quite bizarre that you felt the need to point that out to me. Bizarre, and somewhat insulting.

Did like how the BBC at one point did paraphrase Johnson last week as not being concerned, what it meant he believed the supply issues would solve themselves however from the headline it looked like he didn’t care.

Which if I’m honest is probably closer the truth, as for these “Christmas cancelled and you won’t get your Turkey” the article above shows what food chain supply issues actually mean.

It’s food in general not specifically what you stick on your table at Xmas.

Ah. Brexiters can't be ironic, even if their whole Twitter feed is sceptical and ironic. Gotcha.

I'm waiting for "This has noting to do with Brexit", and some minor "Minister for snow" expecting us to believe they all retired last year.
We're already noticing an effect on waste collection, remaining staff having to do extra shifts.
Perhaps the government will rely on farmers again?

Some of the more... 'interesting' commenters BTL in various places are convinced that things such as the CO2 shortage and the "manufactured" fuel shortage are being done to soften the populace up for the future introduction of rationing.

Ungritted roads... won't they be fun. They're already very selective round here and last year there were several roads that would normally get gritted that didn't, including a couple of relatively busy A-roads.

Which reminds me: maybe I should get the winter wheels and tyres out soon and examine them - they didn't get used last year so they may not be in good shape.
