I actually prefer the new logo, tbh. Those bottom-heavy fonts grind my gears. The tail on the Arial R <spit> is a particular bugbear and another reason why this forum is in Lato.

It's used as the header/footer on my company correspondence and invoices, but I use Bodoni for body text. Gives it a nice old-fashioned feel.

I understand Gill caused some consternation when he was carving Ariel and Prospero onto Broadcasting House as he refused to wear undergarments under his artist's smock...

A "dynamic font " is not a term I know. Lato is a Google font which is part of the firm's project to not consciously make the internet stink of gusset juice. You call it from the top of the CSS file.

50k is relatively cheap for a logo change.

My university spent 350k on a logo change (despite having one of the best graphic design departments in the country, and a general feeling amongst the student body that it would be a great boon to have that in their portfolio). The logo went from something a bit underwhelming but geographically and culturally connected to the establishment, to just writing the university's name within a box, all in some awful modern stencilled typeface.

Though that might win gammons top trump as it's a waste of taxpayer money and something to do with unwashed tax-dodging, job-shirking student layabouts.

This morning on the BBC news they claimed that the government had issued 5000 visas for truck drivers. Have these visas actually been issued or is it simply the case that these visas are available should drivers from the EU wished to apply for them? The BBC really should distinguish between factual statements issued by government departments and stories pushed by the Tory party spin machine.

I believe it's the latter, of which only 27 have been taken up (at time of writing).

As the army are British and therefore don't need visas, I don't understand why you think the BBC would mention them? The Tories have now clarified that Johnson was lying again.

British army relies heavily on ‘mainlining cheap foreign labour.’ A solider from Fiji, Nepal or Barbados probably does need a visa to drive HGV.
