I see the Mail is screaming about lockdowns as if there's one coming into force by the time Emmerdale starts tonight. The only lockdown that will come into force will be if there's a vaccine busting variant out there.

And we're so far down the rabbit hole this time that they're going to have to get the army out to enforce it, I fear.

What a fucking country.

Anti-Vax Hypocrite Eric Clapton Breaks Own Vow, Plays Venue With Vaccine Mandate
On Saturday night, Eric Clapton took the stage at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. This event is notable not just because it alerted us to the fact that there is a music venue called “Smoothie King,” but because by doing so, the musician and public-health skeptic effectively undid the ridiculous stance he took on Covid vaccines earlier this year.

While the rest of the music industry has embraced vaccine mandates as the only way of ensuring safe concerts, Clapton has taken the opposite tack, vowing never to perform at a venue that requires proof of vaccination.

He broke that absurd promise by playing Smoothie King, which, according to its website, is following New Orleans regulations that require all ticketholders 12 and above, as well as staff and participants, to either prove they have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine or provide a negative test taken within 72 hours. Moreover, they must wear a mask while not eating or drinking.
A representative for Clapton did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment, but perhaps the singer has had a change of heart. Or, more likely, adhering to the strict rules he rashly set for his tour would mean canceling several planned dates. After all, his next scheduled show, on Tuesday, at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, will require either vaccine or a negative test for entry come October.

Having earlier in this very thread drawn comparisons between Clapton's health related behaviour and that of one David Mustaine of Megadethshire, I must report that Mr Mustaine has followed a similar tack, except he waited till he had a prime audience in front of him before launching into his anti-vax the government is out to get you bullshit screed.

If nothing else, a lot of this behaviour is helping confirm my suspicions about certain musicians.

Yup.

Another one of those "run out of tarmac" moments.

(I am very partial to a bit of old 'tallica, but whilst I reckon Kirk, Cliff and probably Jason are decent enough spuds, James and Lars are *definitely* wankers)

Ould Megadave has form in being a twat onstage. He took to the stage in Antrim back in the 80's, hepped up on a load of Chuckie bollocks from a guy who was selling pirate t-shirts (not making this up) and proceeded to rant about "Brits Out!". He was smuggled from the venue in a flight case when shit got ugly.

Circularly, that led to "Holy Wars (The Punishment Due)" being written, and a bunch of not very bright yank Metallers reading it as "Kill brown people"

Never cared much for 80s thrash metal, MegaDeth even less so but it's remarkable how in Some Kind of Monster, Mustaine managed to look an equally big a twat as Hetfield and Ulrich despite only being on screen for 5 minutes.

Covid patient who left hospital against medical advice dies

A man who left a Donegal hospital against medical advice while suffering with severe symptoms of Covid-19 has died.

The man passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital yesterday after later returning to the hospital.

In a video shared widely on social media, the 75-year-old was encouraged by an individual to discharge himself from the hospital, while doctors warned him that doing so could endanger his life.

It is understood he left the hospital, but returned a number of days later in a serious condition and was placed on a ventilator.

To put some more meat on the bones to this story...

* 75 year old man in question has history within Irish far-right circles inc. Freeman of the Land type lunacy, refused to get vaccinated because, you know.

* Caught the 'rona, was admitted into hospital.

* Anti-Vaxxer "friends" of his successfully convinced him that the hospital would end up killing him, and he signed himself out earlier this week.

* Two days later he comes back to the same hospital with "severe breathing difficulties", immediately placed on a ventilator in ICU.

* Too little too late, he's dead not that long after being readmitted.

School leaders have warned about being targeted by hoax Covid vaccine consent letters, which aim to spread anti-vaccine messages to parents in England.

Head teachers have been sent a "consent checklist", under a fake NHS logo, along with a letter telling them to share this with parents.

But the checklist includes a series of negative claims about the risks of vaccinations to young people.

Head teachers' leaders say the hoax letters are "massively unhelpful".

"We would appeal for those behind these fake consent forms to stop circulating them," said Julie McCulloch of the ASCL head teachers' union...

"Because they're cunts" isn't enough to bring about a successful prosecution. There must be *something* the rozzers can get them on, surely?

I used to work with a guy who was a special constable. Ex-Gurkha too, nice fellow. Anyway, most of what he did was crowd control on evenings and weekends in west London. I once asked him something along these lines, and he said that there were so many ways to break the law that if a police officer wanted to arrest someone, they could. However each arrest involves processing, paperwork, writing up a follow up action list and all that palaver, so in many cases a stern talking to and hint to bugger off home - especially when doing the post-pub crowds - was sufficient. However, police will always take personal details and record the basics, and that gets added to intelligence records.

So in this case, given a choice between tracking down the senders and warning people (many of whom have already seen through it) that it's a hoax), they'll do the latter. Quicker, easier, and potentially more effective than playing whack-a-mole with a bunch of disparate activists sharing a template via Dropbox.

Just when you think they can't get any lower, Piers and his band of assorted fuckwits yesterday descended on the Old Bailey yesterday, just as Sarah Everard's family emerged, to protest the fact that if there hadn't been any lockdowns, then she wouldn't have been "arrested" under the pretext of breaking the restrictions.

This, of course overlooks the fact that Wayne Couzens was so much of a despicable cunt that he would have found any pretext to abduct her. What a worthless specimen of humanity Corbyn is.
