Apparently my MP has been talking bollocks. Again.
This screenshot has appeared in a local FB group with the caption "Dorries again
". It's not been there long enough to attract comments yet.

She seems to have disappeared from Twitter.

Nadine Dorries is now a fully-fledged minister, with the job title of
Minister of State (Minister for Patient Safety, Suicide Prevention and Mental Health)
I’ll just leave that here. To sink in.

She's been that for over a year. That's why she's been silent on the mental health issues thrown up by the pandemic. And why she's closed her constituency office - as a Minister of State she doesn't have to bother with constituency work, or something.

Dorries is the new Culture Secretary. Let’s hope she brings back Christmas, like Trump did

I'd venture that at least we might now hope to see the rate of suicide prevention go up.

I'm guessing Johnson has appointed her to lead the war on woke. She is thick enough to take on such a role and it will provide a useful distraction from the incompetence elsewhere in government.

Surely she's there to complete the destruction of Channel 4 and the BBC?

Of course she is. Watch Dacre "mysteriously" get the Ofcom gig too.
For all his faults, Dowden actually represented a constituency that's seeing unparalleled growth in the film and TV sector - I heard it suggested that in five years time Hertfordshire could have more studios than Hollywood.

Digital is also part of her brief. Cyber criminals must be quaking in their boots.

I never believed Nad would achieve cabinet minister rank. It was incredible enough that she was ever elected to parliament. In the “Thickest of Thick Thickie Thickos” stakes, Nad is a gold medallist. Really. She has the brains of a pedal bin. Remember when she actually had to ask somebody what the EU Customs Union was because she thought that there were nations that were in the CU and did their own independent trade deals too?
And yet here we are. We really are trough the looking glass.

Peter Sellars said he played Inspector Clouseau as a man who never doubted his own brilliance as the world’s greatest detective. There’s more than a whiff of that about this cabinet. Raab or Dorries are never plagued by uncertainty.
