Does the spineless little creep think he's doing de Piffle a favour, some quid pro quo over COVID diaries, and who said what, and what was ignored; in Alexland there's only one-way traffic

I was surprised they won Reading West that well last time. They'll lose that by miles. Mid Bedfordshire, maybe, they can hold that, but a swing to the Lib Dems (assuming they are best placed, though starting from third) of under 24% will do it. They got 34.2% in North Shropshire, 25.2% in Chesham and Amersham and 29.9% in Tiverton and Honiton. Bozo has gone since all of those though, so will be hard.

It seems to me that if Sunak has any sort of political acumen, he will cut Johnson loose, and immediately quash all talk of him contesting Dorries's old seat at the Mid-Bedfordshire by election.

He must recognise Johnson's busted flush toxicity (the Tory Corbyn ?), and just be ruthless. Follow Johnson's own example if you like - remember that one of the first things he did as leader was to chuck all the sensible pro-Remain Tories out of the party.

Johnson purged the remainers form the party.
I can't imagine the rules have changed since then.

Perhaps a "Sir Humphrey" will have a word.
This is where a strong prime minister would wield the expulsion-hammer sir.

Sunak is probably waiting until the privileges committee actually publishes its report before making a statement. If he goes to soon it might look like he has been given prior notice of the report. If the Sunday Times front page is correct and Johnson's supporters are deserting him then Sunak is better letting any rebellion fizzle out.

I've just spotted this. It will be interesting to see how Rishi is too busy going on a raid/popping over to Ukraine/hiding in a fridge to debate and vote on Boris Johnson when the very next piece of business is his own Tech Bros debate.

I still don't understand why clobbering a niche demographic, and clobbering them hard, is seen to be a silver bullet in the slaying of inflation. Younger mortgage holders hardly strike me as the first demographic that the tories should ditch, especially when many of their deposits would have been funded - at least in part - by their true-blue parents.

Are they fucking mad?

I think Sunak's going to have to sack Hunt, who might have been better than Kwarteng, but is about the last person anyone wants telling them to tighten their belts.

And you think it coming from Sunak like demonstrated today it’s any better.

Using the royal we and sounding more desperate than one of those charity sales people down any given high street.

They are totally toast.
