They might very well have a point.
If he's only pretending he's doing a good job.
Yup he was pretending for at least a year as a minister

Free speech warrior, Robert Jenrick, want the Runnymede Trust stripped of charitable status because he doesn't like what they said about the shooting of Chris Kaba. He boasts that there's "an investigation", which seems to mean that he or his mate have written a letter.

We're going to be on to "Critical Race Theory" by next week, aren't we?

Jenrick, a man who can split an infinitive from thirty paces, has turned his attention to pissing off all the places on the map which used to be pink, in the increasingly joyless hope of courting the most batshit vile elements of his cult's membership.

Former British colonies owe ‘debt of gratitude’, says Robert Jenrick

The man is a toilet.

In the area now known as Ghana, the Brits invaded the Ashanti empire and purposely destroyed every trace of that place's administration, because it was easier to sell the idea of colonising thick tribes-people rather than folk a bit like you or me. In Zimbabwe it was the same thing, an erasure of history, because you couldn't possibly have black Africans building big cities unless they were forced labour for someone whiter.

My grandfather, part of the last generation of empire in Africa, saw it all too clearly. Train up the political leaders and army officers at Sandhurst, but for the love of all things holy don't teach them science or engineering. Got to keep a few tricks to ourselves.

True story, as told to me by Mrs A's grandfather, who was born in 1885, about Victorian attitudes.

'Cousin Fred' worked for the London Brick Company. Around 1900 the company wanted to expand into the Empire, specifically Africa, so they sent a load of bricks to Kenya. I don't know if you know but there are sevral cultures in Kenya, some settled (notably the Kikyu) and some nomadic (notably the Masaai). Fred decided to sell bricks to the Masaai - now as nomads the Masaai have traditionally made temporary huts, which can be difficult to keep sanitary, but that really doesn't matter too much as they are - well, temporary.
Fred and his hand-picked team of Cockney brickies built them some free huts - all bricky and civilised. The Masaai took none look and said 'no thanks' or possibly hapana asanta. Of course they didn't want settled huts that would tie them to one place, and would cost a lot more than their mud and leather temporaries. And be dreadfully unsanitary. And culturally, a complete no-go.

Of course Percy saw this not as an ancient and noble culture expressing its established structures and beliefs, it was a sign of their lack of intelligence and culture. A true Victorian he condemned them for not being like him, the apex of cultural development. Fucking bricks...

He once asked me if we were able to teach black kids in with white kids and if so, why...

I think that’s probably right. Jenrick is quite awful. All smoothie-chopped and smiley smiley, made trim by Ozempic and projecting reasonableness while simultaneously evincing hideous, reactionary, racist bollocks. An outright, 24 karat phoney, who will stoop as low as anyone asks (or doesn’t ask) him to do in order to climb the greasy pole at the apex of the Tory party. Someone described what he is touting as “Scrappy-Doo Farageism”, which I think is right on the button.

An architect or heating and ventilation engineer of today could explain why a round mud hut is an ingeneous design for hot climates. Perhaps the Victorians weren't as sophisticated as those who've been living in those climates for centuries. Should have listened more.

Starting to wonder if Cleverly and his supporters deliberately flunked it for now to avoid this poisoned chalice.
Better Jenrick loses as he's more likely than Kemi to slime up to Farage for an electoral deal. Badenoch getting into a knife fight with Farage will keep her distracted and its not as if she's going attract many old Powelite racist codgers from Reform.

I see both candidates have commented on the new charges laid against the individual charged over the deaths in Southport. Honest Bob is peddling a narrative that the Prime Minister has not been telling us the truth and withholding information from the public. Er nope, as a lawyer he should at least know the basics of the Contempt of Court Act 1981, and say very little if anything. But no, he is peddling the same line that Farage was on GMB recently.

Whatever the case, it changes nothing. Lynch mobs targeting people completely unconnected to the Southport killings (actually, lynch mobs full stop) are still il-fucking-legal.

He went the full Farage, didn't he? He still seems to be convinced that bringing the Reform nutters back will not be more than balanced by alienating Normals.
