Oh yes.
And Shafi seems to have a nice line in under-the-bus-chucking.

What are you reserving judgement about? Johnson’s hardly likely to emerge as a respected effective leader but we haven’t heard about it yet.

Be interesting to poll some older Tory voters now they have proof of exactly how much Johnson valued their lives.

The irony that the age group that voted for brexit were also the ones he was happy to write off to continue to work on Brexit (read: do literally anything to sustain the economy to mask the financial impact of leaving the EU) is probably lost on them though. Not least of which because many of them are now dead as a consequence of his inaction and disinterest.

I was generalising, of course, but stats-wise the leanings are pretty well established.

From today's coverage:
Asked why the government allowed the Cheltenham festival to go ahead, Cummings says at this point the PM was being told that, if the government banned mass sporting events, people would just watch them in pubs instead – which might be even worse.
If you cancel the event, there's nothing to watch.

Cummings’ evidence would be utterly damning were it not for the fact he is openly doing it out of being the jilted party. It’s all someone else’s fault, it was all unspeakably awful, everyone was inept or ghoulish, he was always fighting for the right thing…and yet he didn’t say a word at the time.

At best, he’s a self-serving coward. At worst, he’s just as culpable and awful because he didn’t lift a finger until it suited him in terms of revenge.

Spare a thought for Boris this morning, seeing one enemy appoint another enemy to the lords AND back into one of the great roles of state, while he languishes as a common citizen.

That thought being “Ha ha! Suck it, you useless bag of contemptible shit”

Considering the mystery and controversy surrounding her lords appointment, you had have thought Charlotte Owen would make a low key and very serious maidens speech. Obviously doesn’t suffer from imposter syndrome, is that an inherited trait?
In her first speech, Owen praised the former prime minister for his support. “I must thank the former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, who put a great deal of trust in me,” she said, “I will be forever grateful not only for this but for his kindness and encouragement."
“I feel immensely privileged to have worked with him and other Cabinet Ministers during my time at No10. I was delighted that his commitment to delivering the referendum result, his optimism and his vision for levelling up the country and ensuring that life chances are distributed fairly resulted in the seismic election victory of 2019,” she said.
She did not shy away from the controversy over her young age. “My Lords, I was born in 1993," she said, "George Michael was still number one and the Spice Girls were about to set in motion a wave of girl power.” https://www.standard.co.uk/news/londone ... 20530.html

I doubt she's a maiden.
