Lawless is good people. She's become everything her former co-star Kevin Sorbo isn't. Smart, funny, compassionate and fully aware of the ridiculous nature of her work. Love her

It kind of amazes me that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often. I recall a previous iteration of this forum managing a single, through-gritted-teeth acknowledgment of Owen Jones having had the shit kicked out of him on political grounds, but you don't have to peruse the state of his - or anyone vaguely left-adjacent's - social media all that closely before encounter people who are very obviously not well.

davidjay wrote:Another four complaints to Ofcom today - two for the Esther & Phil show, one each for DJ Jacob and Lozza F's replacement.
Another four complaints that'll get filed in a circular metal receptacle. Somehow I don't see Ofcom doing to GBNews what they did to RT, ever. I wonder how the number of complaints this channel gets compares with the number of complaints the phone sex channels get?

However, looking at the article at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66426544 I spied this:
There are three other ongoing Ofcom investigations into the channel - relating to Sir Jacob's show, Davies and McVey's programme, and the channel's Don't Kill Cash campaign.
So that's why they were at the local market a few weeks ago.

UK drivers face massive £3,500 fines and licence points for little-known actions

https://www.gbnews.com/lifestyle/driver ... oints-laws
These "little-known actions" include stuff like sounding your horn unnecessarily, letting a learner driver take the wheel when you're unfit to drive...

EVERY ONE of these "little-known actions" has been listed as a "You must not "* in every issue of the Highway Code that has ever been published. The real story here is why do GBeebies and their retarded viewers not know this stuff?

*Form of words used to denote the rule is backed up by legislation, so breaking that rule is illegal rather than just poor practice.

What makes you think that your average GBeebies viewer keeps up to date with the Highway Code? You can guarantee the last time they read it was before their driving test. Dare I say this, but how many people on here have a copy of, or have read on the Interwebz the latest edition with the new road user hierarchy rules in it? (I hope the answer to that is "we all have").

Elsewhere I've been trying to deal with petrolheads who view speed cameras and ULEZ as "revenue schemes" - my comment of "unless you're an idiot, a speed camera is the easiest thing to avoid a fine from" was met with "we should have approach-controlled traffic lights to limit speed and no fines".

They've obviously not seen how many drivers view a red light as optional these days.

Proper news organisation here, doing the hard investigative yards of... reading Twitter and picking out comments it doesn't like. Not that the comments are particularly egregious anyway. Not even comments by anyone important enough to name.
One wrote: “According to Penny Mordaunt: ‘Young people crave the purpose and responsibility National Service can provide’

“They're more likely to crave a roof over their heads, well-paying jobs, and the opportunities that have been wrenched away from them by Brexit.”

Another user added: “You know they're getting desperate when the Government are doing ‘bring back national service!’ c*****y. Newsflash: the puce-faced rant-dads who agree with you on that are already voting for you.”

A third wrote: “Penny Mordaunt of course never did national service and how much she really did as a naval reservist has never been clearly explained (which tells you a lot). Absolute joker.”

There isn't any "plan" anyway. It's Sebastian Payne's lot sticking it out stuff that might help him get adopted as Tory candidate. Mordaunt's view is that any scheme should be voluntary, which you have to read a fair way down the page to see. Is that the view of the GB News faithful? If they were being consistent, the story should surely be "Weak Mordaunt won't back proper National Service".
