As predictable as Lee’s ‘man of the people’ views is a Dan Hodges take on such matters.
Plain-speaking Tory ex-miner Lee Anderson has exposed our metropolitan elite as being so out-of-touch
Anderson, the plain-speaking former Labour councillor who represents a Red Wall swing seat in Nottinghamshire, has been in his new post for less than a week. But he's already done his job.
He's flushed out the liberal Left. He's exposed their thinly disguised hatred for anyone who dares challenge their self-styled 'progressive' consensus. And, most significantly, he's revealed how the rise of 'cancel culture' is set to ostracise huge swathes of the British working class. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/arti ... touch.html

And is just as patronising as the Labour politicians he's imagining.
Some nice cunt's tricks in there. A nurse in Peckham (state employed, probably on strike, traditionally female role, That London, a bit where the black people live) is compared to a Hartlepool plumber (self employed, Northern white enclave, implicitly male). People who oppose the death penalty are OK with the paedos, and not motivated by concerns about injustice and humanity.
And ultimately, his argument that Labour have branded Anderson as a thick thug and this is somehow an insult to all working class people, misses the point. The real insult is that the Tories think he's somehow a man of the people.

Hodges is a twat, but he has accurately identifed what one of the Tories' principal attack lines will be at the election. Perhaps their only major attack line, as it's close to being all they have left.: idiocy and bigotry cloaked as "common sense".

‘It’s not the economy, stupid’ is the Tory Red Wall strategy and there’s no evidence its working. Deploy Lee down in Raab’s seat where he can tell those southern nancy wokes what’s what.

Funnily enough, the Lib Dems are already deploying Lee in Surrey. Tobias Ellwood in Bournemouth doesn't fancy defending Lee either.

And the Tories can't distance themselves from him cos he's the deputy chairman of their own party

I can see a situation where all three major parties will be using him in their election strategy.

All of the above notwithstanding, the position of Deputy Chair of the Tory party isn’t exactly a high-profile or important post, nor has it ever been so historically, as far as I’m aware. It’s a bit of a nothing job, in fact (could you name even one of Anderson’s predecessors?) - not as important as that of Conservative Chair, who gets a seat in the cabinet and the privilege of appearing on news media the morning after by-election defeats to pretend that it’s no big deal and everything is actually hunky-dory.
Perhaps putting Anderson in the job will change all that, since he seems to have been granted a licence to be a thick-as-mince cunt. But perhaps it won’t. Not even Anderson can sustain that level of cuntiness 24 hours a day.

Wait, the Loony Liberals are being exposed NOW?
What else has Hodge been railing at for the past two millenia?
As noted here and elsewhere, there's nothing quite as damning as the snobbery of low expectations, which underpins all Tory activity and their cheerleaders' idiocy.
