Holding them to account

As a wash of background colour for younger Mailwatchers, the fashy end of the press - mail and terrorgraph, especially - always did well when Labour were in office. They would incite their readership who would keenly lap it up; ergo, more money from their willing marks.
I fear that this is going to happen again but that it will take us to margins we have not seen before. That incitement will drive the manufactured anger to online platforms where all hell will break loose. Of course, only the consequential actions will be actionable under current law, but this needs to be nipped in the bud before the casual killings start.
Some will have their doubts as to the mettle of the perennially startled Lisa Nandy at DCMS. Personally, I don't. I am pretty confident that she will be able to marshall m'learned troops towards Leveson 2 and a framework for decent, responsible journalism.
