A new thread to keep a beady eye on various Trots, tankies, Corbynistas, and other deluded, placard-waving numpties . I'm starting this off with dear Alexei Sayle. Alexei is 70 years old now, but alas, as deluded as ever. Here he is in the Telegraph, amazingly still punting the baseless myth that Jeremy Corbyn almost won the 2017 general election :
Best day of your life?

The 2017 general election, when Jeremy Corbyn came within around 2,000 votes of forming a minority government. It was a glorious day… we came so close. Being on the Left, you get used to losing all the time. It was intoxicating for me to get so close to winning.

And here is a reminder of why Alexei is talking bollocks :

It also ultimately wouldn’t have mattered if they had come within 1 vote of potentially forming a minority government. Coming 2nd in an election is losing as much as coming 745th is - its winner takes all. Corbyn managed to lose to the (then) worst prime minister running what probably still is the worst campaign ever, and as an encore - with all his people in all the key roles in the party, which is allegedly why he didn’t win in 2017 - he lost by fucking miles just 2 years later against a man who hid in a fucking fridge.

I’ve got a lot of time for Alexei Sayle, but no amount of whining about media bias, or blaming James O’Brien, or anyone else changes the fact he was an unpopular leader for very valid reasons and that’s why he didn’t win - and he did better than expected at first only because people his supporters actively and openly loathed did exactly what they were asked to do and got behind him anyway. Something those same supporters will absolutely not do for Starmer because fuck anyone who needs a Labour government, apparently - people like Rachel from Swindon’s need to look like a perfect socialist trumps the needs of anyone swamped by bills or in need of asylum or on an NHS waiting list etc.

Corbyn’s myriad issues weren’t so much an elephant in the room as hundreds of pachyderms in a vast conference centre for the international trunked animal of the year contest, with Jez and his chums stood right in the middle of them all blaming all the piles of shite and trumpeting on the people asking him what he was going to do about the noise and smell. And they still are.

No reason why he shouldn't, and he or the Tories will win- these contests have low turnouts and can be turned on personal brands, which he has now got in abundance,. Labour's candidate is going to look like a crony by comparison. Poor old Frank Dobson couldn't do much with that, and he was very experienced.

He's not a Trot anyway, This isn't a Trot role, having to talk to businessmen about investment. There aren't Trots in the Welsh, Scottish or Northern Irish governments, for that good reason. It's a big boy trousers job. I haven't heard anything to suggest he is dicking about in the role.

Following Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves's intimation that the new Labour government will need to retain, for the time being, the current restriction on Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit claims to only the first two children in any family, I note that the Trots have in response invented a hilarious new nickname for the next Prime Minister. It is (wait for it, this is fucking side splitting) . . . "Kid Starver" !!!!!! Laugh? I nearly opened a vein.

Makes a change from Kieth, I suppose...
Yes I did, In many ways it's a perfect example of how social media can cause people to be trapped in bubbles as nicknames that would a 12 year old would think are immature are suddenly considered to be the height of satire.
