The Sdp.

If you're like me, you may be surprised to learn that the Social Democratic Party still exists as more than just a vague wraith from the 1980s, but is actually contesting some seats at this election. In one of which (Middlesborough & South-East Cleveland), their candidate is the execrable Rod Liddle (“I’d have been a schoolteacher, but I ‘d have tried to shag all the nubile schoolgirls”).

Remarkable.

Yes, they seem to be running on a socially conservative, economically social-democratic ticket, like a bunch of one nation Tories from 1966. I'm not sure that Shirley Williams would have approved.

"I'm not Reform, I'm SDP" is how I read them. Difference between a hooker and a lady of the night.

As always, the "left on economics" comes miles behind the "right on culture". There's not even a section I can see on Taxation.

More populists.
More split populist vote.

They're just like the Trots they profess to hate.

Gotta love em.

To me, growing up and living where I did for so many years, SDP will always be Shefford Dental Practice, halfway up High Street, next door to Domino's Pizzas.

SDP leader speaks out against our spineless leaders who didn’t deliver real Brexit. He has loads of plans such as banning cheap imports to revive manufacturing in run down cities and sending all illegals to the Ascension Islands. He doesn’t elaborate as to who will buy these overpriced manufactured goods, as it’s not going to be countries that have had import controls slapped on them.

The SDP did appallingly in the election. This chap got 334 votes in Coventry South.

As his reasoning BTL seems to show, he's inferred his view from the fact that we import lots of doctors "from the third world".

The SDP election candidate for Kettering. He got 85 votes, though in fairness Reform and Philip Hollobone probably didn't leave much space for him.

I see they've resorted to quoting Tony Benn

By the early 90s Benn believed Commissioners should be drawn from the European Parliament to become an executive with a pan European elected popular mandate. Gave up explaining to Brexiters why Benn’s fag packet ideas were their worst nightmare as they were too thick to get it.
