Official Government spokesman here.

Say what you like about our lot, but they'd have to do better than this when trying to explain away corruption.

Anything to distract from the football.

More from Zoltan. What happened to the veto? Looks like you caved to the "bullies" you were complaining about the other day.

Ha ha ha.

Hungary is now spending over 5% of GDP - more than double its defence budget - on subsidies to encourage people to have children. But it is failing to move the dial. Fascinating on policy design and efficacy as many rich countries are facing declining fertility rates
This is the hero of the Hard Right? Chucking cash away like this. Anyone would think they didn't care that much about a small state.

8n my experience, stopping Hungarians shagging would be more of an ask.

Depopulation in principle is desirable but an economic disaster in practice. You’d have thought the anti-immigrant mob would have done a lot of work on this on how to mitigate the downsides. But surprise surprise they have nothing even from top academic brains like Matt Goodwin.

Reheated Ron de Santis. I've got a funny feeling that fine will go up.

The deputy head of the Hungarian Interior Ministry presented the buses that would transport "illegal migrants" from the Hungarian-Serbian border to Brussels. This would be the government's response to the €200 million EU fine, which is due to be paid on 17 September.

Orbán would look east and bring Putin to within a gentle bike ride to Vienna. That's considered even more sub-optimal than the current shit-show.

The EU has the right to invade Hungary if that looks like it might happen? George Bush Snr and Gorbachex agreed it, I'm telling ya.

The EU would probably append "that escalated quickly" to a few buses that transport "illegal migrants" no further than Germany's borders anyway.

The EU is effectively saddled with a problem child which is abusing the family.

Europe responded postively to this overwhelming refugee crisis that Austria faced in the early post war era. Perhaps Mr Orban can guess where these terrified refugees came from
Over 200,000 refugees set out on foot in the harsh winter with few possessions and headed for the Austrian border. The Austrian government quickly found itself overwhelmed and reached out to the west for assistance. For humanitarian organizations like CARE, the crisis offered an opportunity to prove its organizational flexibility and its capacity to handle the needs of a large refugee population. It also presented new challenges brought on by the demands of refugees and the logistical difficulties of working in such a tumultuous and fast moving political landscape.
