Talking of which, what's happened on the "targeting middle class drug users" front?

Irate Thamesmead resident: I actually caught them breaking in to my house! It took an hour for you to come.
Senior Met copper: I can only apologize. But it was all hands to the pump on a very serious incident. Reports of a dinner party in Wimbledon.

What's he trying to say - only left wingers do coke?
On a documentary about Jim Davidson, Gary Bushell was on hand to leap to his defence: “Lou Reed beat up his wife but you don’t hear lefties talk about that.”

Reed was of course renowned for being a really nice bloke.

If what I am hearing is true, the Cretinocracy belong in this thread (again).

Sources who shall remain nameless are saying mask wearing will be mandated on 15th November. No matter how bad things are getting it won't be before that because the Horsists will be having a weekend event at Cheltenham, starting on the 12th, and we all know horsey peoples wants are more important than the general public's needs.

It'll make no difference to me because it's still mandated in my workplace - but I strongly suggest we buy lots of earplugs in advance because the whining of the "fweedom" lot will be positively Biblical...

Last week I walked past a bus. Lower floor - mostly older people, mostly masked.

Upper floor - teenagers and young adults, not a mask to be seen.

I know the feeling. Was in a newsagent in Carlisle last week, full of teenagers milling around, unmasked, picking things up and putting them back.

Went up to the counter, proffered my copy of the i and 65p. The cashier (masked, as I was) said thanks with feeling.

When you look at deaths in the middle-age bracket, unvaccinated deaths exceed those of the vaccinated by a considerable ratio. I'm sure if you grovelled around in ONS/NHS data, you'd find the actual figures.

When I think how poorly my nephew was at times (he's 40 and asthmatic), I shudder to think how he'd have been if he was unvaccinated, especially as he had two ILIs either side of Covid, caught, we think, from his students...

On a train and wandering round on Saturday for the first time in a few months I noticed more than ever that there's a definite age difference in mask-wearing. Under 40 hardly anyone, over fifty almost 100%.

This is rather belated but one of my brother's longest childhood friends is an anti-vaxxer and was unable to attend the wedding last week because he caught COVID.

He's anti-vax because he's skeptical about whether a vaccine developed within a year is really safe and that we don't know the long term effects yet. He probably could do more reading on the science and data but I don't think such a stance is that unreasonable, certainly not fucknugget worthy.

What is fucknugget worthy is him buying a forged vaccine card so he could go about his business unfettered as if the pandemic had never happened. I'm glad karma caught up with him in the end.
