Thank you everybody for all the kind wishes. Operation seems thus far to be successful, so I am sitting here with a healthy supply of painkillers and wondering how the hell I am going to get showered and dressed for the dressing change later this afternoon.

To be honest, I'll be rather relieved when this is all over...
