Luckily I got a brace of boxes of LFTs from the chemists yesterday: these are the two nostrils/no tonsils type so now I can double the sneezing but avoid the retching.

I suspect he keeps seeing headlines about Omicron's purported "increased transmissibility, decreased severity" and thinking that he jolly well doesn't have to do a jot. Which makes his "stringent measures" all the more careless and ill thought out even if that does become true of Omicron.

When did we first start hearing about this variant of concern? Last week of November? Admittedly not a great deal of preparation time but something could have been managed by now. It looks like we're on a course for another cancelled Christmas.

Problem is now though, if new restrictions become necessary by the end of the week, and let's face it, that looks more than likely, will they be brought in for the health and well being of us all, or will he just chicken out to avoid the aggro?

If an unvaccinated person wants to get in a nightclub or other event they will. They just need to get a vaccinated acquaintance to send them a screenshot or PDF of their vaccination status. How is a bouncer going to know that 20 year old unvaccinated Joe Bloggs in front of them isn't the 20 year old vaccinated John Smith on the covid pass they are looking at?
