I suppose to fit in to the Greens, Matt will become a full on NIMBY.
To be fair, the greens aren’t so much NIMBYs as not in *anyone’s* back yard. And also:
everything should be a backyard.

I take it the warm up speaker wasn't Miriam Margoyles.

Starmer has been awarded Politician Of The Year by the Spectator, Ash Sarkar isn't happy.
I wonder if she showed the same concern when Corbyn was given the same award in 2017
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/spe ... e-winners/ which Socialist Voice congratulated him for?
Come to that, Corbyn also accepted Campaigner Of The Year from The Spectator in 2015.

This Twitter thread is astounding. Completely unable to compute that Corbyn got the same award, one of his cheerleaders seems to be suggesting Diane Abbot pitched up at The Spectator and accepted it for him completely without his knowledge and he would have refused it. Because that’s *much* more plausible than having to question St. Jeremy…

Momentum built an energised grassroots left. Its financial peril is Labour’s loss
Keir Starmer should recognise what the movement brings, instead of expelling members and blocking leftwing candidates

A load of bollocks from political genius and chief engineer of the Corbyn success story - Andrew Fisher.

He also lies about the Forde Report, also membership has increased not decreased. Yeah what a load of revisionist bollocks.

It has decreased from the very highs of Corbyn but it seems to have levelled out far higher than it was in the 00s.
The question you have to ask of those highs were how many were around just for the leadership contests.
We were standing room only in a church for the leadership contest, the previous months CLP meetings were attended by about 10-20.
I mysteriously stopped receiving emails after I called it a farce when I walked out but I don’t believe our CLP numbers got any bigger, we were holding it in the same place up to Covid.

As someone I follow on twitter points out the article doesn't really explain why Momentum are in trouble.

As has no doubt already been said, the people leaving the party since early 2020 are for the most part, people that should never have been in the party to begin with.

I’m pretty sure it was being propped up by Lansman anyhow and then he took his cash after some moved against him.

And no one left who can do accounts. Did Momentum spunk all their money paying ‘community organisers?’

Ah, I see - it’s about perpetuating the myth that a large membership is the only real indicator of a popular, worthy leader.
Wonder why that is?

But surely if the policies are popular, then the voices of the masses joining to spread the love will not need to be heard, unless faithfully repeating them to the electorate, for if the leader is right, then the party is right, for we must not have factionalism...
