I think I have too. Would our deaths have not counted so much? Hard to see any other implication of this stuff.

I'd have thought looking after the old people was a traditional Blue Labour value too, but apparently not.

Paul Embery on open borders lefties who don't get it. Except that nobody is arguing for anything like open borders.

A Powellite trade unionist who used to be in the FBU turned anti-woke pundit and scourge of the metropolitan elite.

When was the last time he put out a fire? Does he at any point become a member of the media elite, or does he have a lifetime pass?

Just reading the replies made me think that someone has left the gates at the cunt farm open.

He’s seems more concerned with the jetset going on fancy foreign holidays than regenerating Clacton.

The public having fuck all idea what they’re talking about is the fault of cop shows starring David Harewood and Idris Elba

Given that, for example, Eastenders regularly gets shit from twats when a plotline or episode focuses on "the black family" (itself hardly representative of the east end of London), I imagine that if a drama were to match those percentages, they'd still be whinging about tokenism.

Also, Young might reflect on the role the RW media play, with their "we're being swamped!" rhetoric over the last 60-odd years. He won't though.

The lesson from those stats might also be read as 'hey look, they're a minority but still deserve representation because... they exist and the right has demonised them forever'.

Rather than 'SEE, there's so few of them anyway waht's the point of acknowledging them HEY STOP DILUTING OUR WHITE WORKING CLASS'

FWIW I feel like the representation issue, whilst worthy and important, is only step one on a road, down which are far more challenging and telling issues to confront. Sadly.

Heavyweight political theorist Paul has discovered marketing and capitalism. Business goes harder for younger, well off people than for old people with no money. What would Paul's sort of advertising look like? The Werner Originals granddad moaning about darkies? You don't have to actively embrace "woke".

He somehow crowbars in Labour losing the Red Wall later on.

Isn’t he arguing with himself in that, he is almost at a realisation and then pretends it’s something else.

See, for example, the refusal of these organisations to promote LGBT rights to their Middle East markets.

How come the Muzzies can have a go at the queers but we can’t? You get arrested for saying you’re English these days.

Paul's appalled by Labour talking to... the UK's main international ally.

He has, and finding out the hard way his pals are no longer interested in defending white working class wages.
