Nor Scotland, Birmingham and Bristol.
Very true. The SNP must be very relieved that there were no Scottish local elections this year, I suspect Labour would've done pretty well given the current climate.

Stratford upon Avon goes LD. The Zahawi factor.
He'll surely have to stand down at the next election. If he doesn't Labour and the Lib Dems should do a Martin Bell candidacy. Crackers the Sleaze Fighting Chicken?

Tories have gained Torbay on collapsing Independents.
Final result in Herefordshire is Tories up 7, from collapsing independents, but Lib Dems gained 6 and Greens 2. So not that good result at all.

Well we (Charnwood) have gone NoC;
From To
Con 37 23
Lab 12 20
Green 1 8
Ind 1 1
and one of the Con's to get ousted is the Leader of the Council a Mr Morgan - husband of Baroness Morgan, there was a ward change and he jumped to what he thought was a safe seat

First result I've seen from Surrey, not as bad as I thought for the Tories. Lost only 3 seats in Reigate and Banstead and keep majority. Only a third of the council up though so maybe not that good.

23 losses for the Tories in East Hertfordshire. 17 gains for the Greens. Why do I suspect the Greens are playing Nimby there?

12 more losses in Mid Devon, 22 gains for the Lib Dems who I also suspect of playing Nimby.

Central Beds results
Indy 27 (+13)
Tory 20 (-23)
LD 10 (+7)
Lab 5 (+3)
Grn 1 (+1)
And the sole kipper got the Order of the Boot.
Central Beds goes from Scum Party to No Overall Control

Ah, there must be a reduction in overall seats as well as Tory disaster.

Labour gain Dover. That - given the location, and all Braverman’s bluster on small boats - is *very* significant.
If you not only can’t hold but actually get thoroughly shafted in the very area where your flagship policy is the most relevant on the ground, then just maybe your flagship policy is actually a load of horse shit.

Sunderland, the Burra, Stoke, and now the pitchfork-wielding cliff-dwellers. What a dreadful thought, unless you are a metropolitan Lib Dem.

Create a crisis in order to pose as the saviours sounds like a Dominic Cummings ruse, especially as they forgot to provide a solution.

Why are Labour doing well in Kent? Are they too far behind to challenge for the Westminster seats? I'd have said so, but not sure now.

Labour wins 61 out of 85 in Liverpool, Lib Dems second 15.
What happened to the socialist tide?
