I learnt today from an old John Pilger article that the Taliban had offered to hand over Bin Laden for 9/11, It took me not very long to check that they offered to consider it if the US gave them evidence to their satisfaction. That's like saying Putin offered to hand over the Skirpal suspects.

I've seen a video on tiktok and it does look like it's true
The Mail has helpfully drawn big red circles around them just in case you can't make out the plummeting black dots. Tasteful.

No wish to watch such a thing, but reflects the desperation of these poor people.

We've moved beyond fall of Saigon, to Final evacuation flights from the Stalingrad pocket.

Yep.

Of course, we've just cut aid to Afghanistan by 78%,

Biden making a speech now.

"Sleepy Joe" or "Caught Napping" Joe?

Has just mentioned Trump's deal.

He's said this did unfold more quickly that we anticapated.

I think they call that "litotes", TWA.

Biden has said "the buck stops with me". Hmmm.

It sounds like he's just washing his hands of it all: elsewhere, I've seen tweets saying the Afghan army were basically a bunch of stoners, whilst others say the Afghan army went unpaid by American contractors and were effectively given "pocket money" by the Taliban, hence their reluctance to fight.

Could be true, could be bollocks. Either way, it is an unholy mess.

Don't refugees return home after occupations end?

"We don't mind the Taliban, it's the turmoil we're fleeing".

Just popped over to the automotive cunt farm to see what they have been saying.

I have beaten a hasty retreat and now need to bleach my eyes.

They won’t be getting here if Jean Marie Macron has his way. Or maybe its his plan that they do head for the UK

Extremely selective reporting.

Emanuel Macron says that France will observe its duty to protect the seriously endangered.

As opposed to those fleeing their homes for trivial reasons. I get the domestic optics Macron will face against Le Pen next year. Just more tough shit for the Afghans.

Can't win, can he?

I can't be arsed to do a full transcript, but that isn't what he says.

I'm not trying to cheerlead for Biden here, he must take at least some of the blame for what has been happening - I'm just more interested exposing the thundercunt that is Tr*mp.

Les citations ne doivent pas être tronqué, l’entière phrase: « Nous devons anticiper et nous protéger contre des flux migratoires irréguliers importants qui mettraient en danger ceux qui les empruntent, et nourrissent les trafics ».
Or
The quotes should not be truncated, the entire sentence: "We must anticipate and protect ourselves against significant irregular migratory flows that would endanger those who use them, and fuel trafficking."
Now, how honest was Mr Eaton being? Given that he is now starting to backtrack.

The problem is, within the alternate-reality bubble that the right wing media have constructed for themselves in the States, this entire episode will simply be reimagined as Crazy Joe bowing down to the Radical Left. And it'll be swallowed up by tens of millions of gullible Americans.
