The editorial line takes a slightly more balanced approach.

Why is perpetual growth seen as a good thing? It's unsustainable.

Depends on the type of growth. Perpetual economic contraction is even worse.

Worth reading. Rishi's debt interest panic is basically bollocks. Julian Jessop does work for the IEA, but he seems to be fairly straight and sensible on lots of stuff.

Apparently he has been making comparisons on the newcast programme about himself and Will Smith, the difference being Will Smith is an actor whose wife had the piss taken out of her for a condition.
As a minister his wife’s links and interests are part of the public interest, that’s effectively the way the rules are set out.
He has also been bleating about the OBR for telling the truth.
The guy is as a weak as a streak of piss, I guess he felt he could be leader after watching Johnson.

He's not been having a good few days.
Don't do business with Russia, everyone. But you're not allowed to mention that my household are earning money from there, right now. She can sell her stake, right now.

I also believe he lied about that as well.

The Ministerial Code states that: "Ministers must provide... a full list of all interests which might be thought to give rise to a conflict. The list should also cover interests of the Minister’s spouse or partner."

Rishi's father-in-law has pulled out of Russia. He will be very relieved.

Talking of Rishi, remember when people were saying Labour were "to the right of the Tories" on tax and spend? What happened to that?

Poorest households could miss out on £150 council tax rebate
I hadn't considered this until now. Houses band E and above split into flats, but the landlord pays the council tax overall, meaning s/he gets the £150 rebate despite not paying the energy bills, only the council tax. The tenants may have pre-payment meters, for example. They will get zilch. Apart from the biggest hike in energy prices of all.

Much less efficient than using benefits. But "welfare" is bad, a tax rebate is good. Apparently.

Despite being the Infosy boss's son-in-law, British chancellors of Exchequer don't carry the same weight in India as they did under Gladstone and Disraeli. Or even Gordon Brown.

Is this right? Great Ted Cruz effort, if so. I'm not sure "I'm over here learning about tech" is going to fly.

Can’t find anything official though a lot have said it.
If true it’s one of the thickest things he could have done.
