Discovery sells GB News stake as directors resign in shake-up

That's quite a Turnip for the books. Discovery is the mob that tried to take over Poland's broadcasting earlier this year until nixing it landed on the president's desk. They are spectacularly filthy and have little to so with sparrows and bunnies.
Not to give the Polish PiS any credit really, but I remember when the broadcast media ownership laws were being drafted up there an awful lot of 'muricans (from both major political parties there) going up in arms about this for several reasons which I'm sure you can guess without much trouble - I pointed out to them that the rules for owning broadcast media in the United States essentially prohibits non-Americans from holding licences as well as a load of hoops having to be jumped to allow foreign investment in said broadcasters, so when are they going to sort their own rules out that they effectively demand everyone else go by? Some said "fair point" but the majority either didn't respond or went down the 'murican exceptionalism route.

The channel is to receive another £60m ‘investment’ from its right wing headbanger hedge fund bankrollers. Hope they need to ‘invest’ more money.

I can remember when many of the channels presenters loved to use the phrase 'Go woke, go broke.' The phrase hasn't dated very well.

Have a read. Go on, force yourself. Who is this fucking maniac Dan Wooton ?

The terrible thing is that I can understand why this desperation and despair could lead some to think a Labour socialist government – propped up by the nightmare combination of the Lib Dems, SNP and Greens – could be the solution.
But, believe me, such a scenario would send us into a decade of discontent, not just a winter.
It’s the socialist policies of the Covid era that have led us to this mess, including an outrageous 70-year high tax burden, which must be immediately cut.

Another fine entry in the category of "Look at the potential terrors of leftie woke socialist government" whilst citing to actual events under Tory rule as examples.

I'm not watching the clip, but sounds like Peter Sweden was lying about the UK.

Murdoch’s outfit employs professional standards in its news output (as required in its broadcasting licence) so who does GBeebies retain among right leaning current affairs junkies? The dregs on the fringe.

Ignorance or not giving a toss - both are entirely plausible.

I mean, lots of people go to the Notting Hill Carnival, but it's quite a stretch to call it "London", even on the one day in the year that it's held. I'm amazed that this is "only on GB News".
