Oh dear.
How sad.
Never mind.
Donald Trump and three of his children have been served with a lawsuit alleging "years of bank, tax and insurance fraud".
New York attorney general Letitia James is suing the former US president, his family, and the Trump Organisation.
If successful, it could halt Mr Trump's ability to do business in the state for years - and even includes a referral for possible federal prosecution.
The penalties could effectively be a "death penalty" for his organisation, Ms James said.
The suit, more than 220 pages in length, details alleged efforts by Mr Trump to inflate his personal net worth to attract favourable loan agreements while also deflating his worth and holdings to gain better tax benefits.
It also named the former president's sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric, and his daughter Ivanka Trump as defendants...

This is encouraging.
If you don't know this story, the poorest state in the US spent millions of pounds from the welfare budget on volleyball courts for schools attended by a very rich ex-NFL quarterback's daughters.

Trump is bookies favourite to be next Republican Presidential candidate and also favourite to be next President. Then again, Hillary was in 2016 so hopefully they have it wrong again.

Surely flight plans have to be logged in advance, so unless there's a sudden emergency (lack of fuel, medical situation on board, airport seized by ultra-right wing soldiers freeing deposed central American dictator etc) how would they be able to change destinations?

If I remember correctly, the planes owned by a major donor's company.

Big chance that Biden retires and nobody knows who might replace him, so not very surprising that "the leader of the opposition" becomes favourite. Bit like when Jez was fairly low odds to be next PM.

If Trump was the candidate against whoever the Democrats put up then I'd like to think everyone who opposes him will use their vote this time. Or at least more. They've had experience of him under their belts now.

There's a more fundamental point behind the pardon/decriminalisation, and that's that possession won't be the go to offence for a cop who just wants to do someone for something*. Biden has taken a string from the bow of bad law enforcement with a grudge, and that can only be a positive.
*Yeah, not everyone smokes weed and all that. But walk with me a little here

Not even possession. Gets rid of "Smell dope? Right, down to the station with you, me laddie, for an interview with detectives hosepipe and stairs".

In Oklahoma, a statewide poll published this morning actually has the Dem candidate leading in the Governor's race. I'll believe that when I see it - Oklahoma is probably the most Trump-y state of the whole lot.

This is America, Sir!
We don't take things to the station when a negligent discharge will suffice.

True but the fact that in what we've been told is a red wave year why is a Republican underperforming so badly?

I can't believe that poll isn't an outlier. The previous governor (Mary Fallin) left office in 2018 with an appoval rating of 23.4%, but Kevin Stitt won easily enough in 2018.
