You'll be amazed to hear that Father Calvin Robinson- I'm happy to refer to him by his preferred title, even if it exaggerates his importance (it's a tiny denomination)- has tried to mislead people.

If you're cancelled from "Oxford" and "academia", that suggests either Oxford University or Oxford Brookes, right? It actually refers to a private summer school for school kids. And he cancelled himself.

Calvin's church seems to have 568 followers on Twitter. In fairness, they include top drawer theologians like Laurence Fox and Paul Embery.

It's an interesting definition of 'censorship' and one of which I was previously unaware.

A born again chap I used to work with described such things as "intellectual snobbery", which seemed to mean that a preference for empiricism and fact was simply a matter of social prejudice.

He was possibly the single most ignorant and stupid person I've ever met, and I know a guy who picked a fight with a prison officer on the last day of his sentence.

I have noticed over the last couple of days a number of GB News presenters have been tweeting about how they are 'celebrating' the planned closure of the Tavistock clinic in London. I personally find these tweets extremely repulsive.

A few years ago a friend of mine had a daughter who wanted to transition into a boy. The experience for the family was utterly horrendous. The girl was bullied at school, she developed an eating disorder and attempted suicide on several occasion. The stress of the situation nearly split up the family caused a great deal on mental anguish for all concerned. Fortunately they got through it mostly with the help and support of friends and also excellent support from their local NHS counselling. Fortunately for the family mum was a nurse so she was able to seek out the appropriate help.

The family are now through the other side of it. They now have a son who is very happy with life, he has a job, a partner and a flat of his own. None of this would have been possible without the support of the NHS.

The Tavistock clinic has clearly had some issues in the past, mistakes have been made but closing down the facility entirely seems a very risky decision. Two new clinics are going to be set up to replace the Tavistock but how many health care workers are going to be keen to join these clinic when they seeing the hostile environment that parts of the media have started to create around transgender issues.

Much of the rhetoric I'm seeing on GB News and twitter reminds me of the 1980's when the Tories introduced Clause 28 which tried to create hostility towards schools and councils that tried to foster a more tolerant approach to gay rights.

I see the GBeebies sub-editor budget is completely tapped out.

Reading that made my eyes bleed. Is there no-one in the entire organisation who has looked at it since publication?

GB News are today claiming they are going from strength to strength thanks to a new £60m investment. Presumably one man's investment is another man's bail out.

Apparently their biggest investor is the Legatum Group which is based in Dubai. Given that the channel keeps banging on about freedom of speech I'm not sure that freedom of speech is a big thing in the UAE.

I've just been reading Tweets from people who claim that the channel has got too many lefties on its shows. When questioned about this claim they mention a couple of comedians who appear on one show. So two left leaning people out of about fifty presenters mean that the channel is a bit lefty.

That's quite a Turnip for the books. Discovery is the mob that tried to take over Poland's broadcasting earlier this year until nixing it landed on the president's desk. They are spectacularly filthy and have little to so with sparrows and bunnies.

The powers that be have clearly been listening to their viewers concerns because today the channel has taken on 3 new presenters : Andrew Pierce, Camilla Tominey and Michael Portillo. That should even things out a bit more.

The only good thing about this is that hopefully it will mean these three won't crop up as often on the main TV channels which is a real bonus.
