It's more that they have to.write what attracts clicks. Old colleagues now on the editorial side have told me that they get absolute bollockings from management if hits on their section of the website drop below a certain level at any time, day or night.

Yes, Radio 4 seem to have turned over the entire schedule to it. I've not heard much, but I've enjoyed what I've heard so far.

Just yesterday, Mrs O'Boogie and I were discussing what centenaries there might be this year and couldn't think of any. Now I know it's 100 years of the shipping forecast (on the BBC).
Also 200 years of railways.

The last one was 89 years ago, the next will be 91 years ahead.
Most of us are unlikely to witness two in our lifetimes.
Unlikely ? Well, I would be 156 years old if I were still alive to see the next one. Isn’t the word “impossible”?

My dad's 90, so he's seen two.

Fuck a duck. Newsnight has got fucking Nadine Dorries on again (after a very dignified interview Vic Derbyshire did with Jess).

Why the BBC keeps asking this fucking moronic woman on to offer her opinions and lies is completely beyond me.

Even if Dorries does “say stuff that will go viral” (which I doubt), I don’t think that is the reason why she gets asked to appear and opine on programmes like Newsnight.

It might have something to do with her being a former government minister and being considered therefore (wrongly) to have views worth hearing .

I watch Newsnight because I like Newsnight, but I very nearly fucking switched off when I saw that Dorries was on.

Media researchers tend to do as little work as possible and if you're in their contacts you'll get called on for any related subject. Dorres is looking to keep herself relevant so if an envelope's being opened she'll be there. She's cheap, available and always ready with clickbait.

When does a Venn diagram become a circle?

Lots of octogenarians* posting about the Winter of 1947. Sorry did I say octogenarians? I meant liars, the same boomers who talk like they were at The Somme.

They all seem to think we just cracked on with it when Britain was Great and that the Blitz Spirit meant no people, livestock or wildlife died. There were no powers outages and national infrastructure was completely unaffected.
