I wouldn't date somebody in the Ku Klux Klan, so I must be the real bigot.

I always thought bigotry related to what someone is, whereas discernment was about what they do.

Matthew? Matthew?
Five Star and the PS ran separate candidates in Rome, but likely to be a run off, and whichever of them comes ahead ought to win then.

Need more evidence to be convinced that the tax and spend Tory is a real thing. The poll is surprising as its really about economic competence.

I’ve got about 100 elections to prove otherwise, everyone feels more tax for services is a good thing but when it’s their tax they suddenly don’t.
Also one has just raised Taxes, the other hasn’t for some years, sorry but this pathetic pick and choose and decide on your own narrative. Labour being the party of higher taxes has never actually won it an election and it’s probably had that position since the 80’s.
As I’ve said no one disagrees with higher taxes along as it’s not them paying them. Irony is I found myself in the same boat, I agree on higher taxes I just found the recent rise hit the lowest paid the hardest.
Goodwin and his mate “Harold” are delusional.

This narrative (new taxes for the common good are popular) is one that left wingers would love to believe in but pull the other one.

Yep.
Goodwin has a point BTL that people do this with rightwing stuff, Brexit etc but that's hardly a defence for doing it himself.

Ha ha.
Who exactly is "losing perspective"? Does anybody think "that's it, Labour, home and dry!"?

I forget now the calculation of how you mathematically challenge a +/-3% MoE yielding the same result on multiple occasions.
Spoiler; the result is more right than Mussolini's wanking hand.

I think he is talking out of his arse but I do think Johnson reaches a section of the voting population that won’t vote or that won’t vote for the Tories under anyone else, and I don’t think there is a major vote that returns especially on 2019 election.
It’s like a mini Trump poll variation, It’s just a theory I’ve had, anyhow even those who approached it with caution are saying in the underlying data Johnson is now less favourable with the marginal seats than he is nationwide which is a switch.

Is the desire for probity and honesty in public office a conservative cultural value? Not a subject Matt wants to discuss on his thread. Nor can he list any gains from this alleged realignment.
