Heath does appear to be having some form of public breakdown. His stories are increasingly utter gibberish.

Want some absolute bollocks with your cereal? The Torygraph has taken a whiny memo and turned it into a "damning report" on Sue Grey.

They really are getting ever more desperate.

Ha ha ha.

Aside from anything else, wouldn't people have borrowed pretty much the same money overall, so be in the same shit?

You can do that when you don’t lose economic confidence and have to raise rates.

Even if that's true, the Tories have added £3,000.

See food banks.

"Aaaaah, but they started under Labour!"

Yes, in cases of extreme poverty and need. Not one on every street corner.

If the strategy is leading into the election with "lame Brown's legacy"...

Well, I think we've got this.

Apparently zero hours jobs started under Labour too.

To no great surprise.
Hunt rules out mortgage interest tax relief help
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has ruled out providing large-scale assistance to mortgage payers, through tax relief on their mortgage payments.

We're bending to EU rules to get cheaper food and make it easier to export? Bring it on.

Two for the price of one here. European Commission and Biden. Or three, if you include German.

It's pretty unlikely "Biden" "alighted on her". Doubtless there's a Spitting Image style Ronnie Regan sketch in that, but it's more likely she's the choice of the Pentagon and US Defense people more widely. Not hard to see what she might bring to a US wanting Europe and particularly Germany to spend more on Defence. I can't read the doubtless heavyweight analysis of her record as German Defence Secretary.

German "defence" was but an afterthought when she was in office. As President of the E.C. during Covid, hers has been another story altogether. She gets things done with everyone (except Orbán) on side.

Paper of record stuff here. Someone who doesn't like the government and has lots of Twitter followers has had cosmetic surgery. Send in the personal pillar of rectitude that is Petronella.

If all the current polls are to be believed, Starmer learns very fast.
