Dom Rabid has sPoke hIs brAnes to the Torygraph, and if this assessment of what he has said is correct it is both very, very worrying and extremely fascistic - making judicial decisions subordinate to ministerial wishes.
Prof Mark Elliott explains:

Justice Secretary proposes to enable ministers to 'correct' court judgments that they consider 'incorrect'.
Does Raab have any self-awareness as to why this language (associated with Robespierre or Stalin) is deeply sinister and problematic? Why does he want this power?

How we laughed - It's what they do over there - when Trump was tossing pardons about like confetti.

It's what I said before. These people are not Conservatives, they are fascists.

We do seem to be heading that way.
Who've they got lined up to take the rap for the fire in the Palace of Westminster?

Raab is creating a false narrative that Strasberg overrules British law.

An end to human rights? Dominic Raab is on record saying, “I don’t support the Human Rights Act and I don’t believe in economic and social rights.” UK law enshrining the European Convention on Human Rights may be set to end.

This is a good idea from Raab but the temptation is high to wind him up. Raab the liberal do-gooder rewarding criminals to replace law abiding workers
Ex-convicts could help plug staff shortages in London’s pubs and restaurants in the run-up to Christmas, Justice Secretary Dominic Raab said on Friday.
Mr Raab told the Standard: “Hospitality has been hit hard by coronavirus, with many staff changing careers and businesses now looking to fill jobs.
“Giving an ex-offender a second chance can be win win for them and their employer,” Mr Raab added. “Business owners have told me ex-offenders are among the most reliable and motivated workers in their team – they have a desire to prove themselves trustworthy and they have something to lose.” https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/domi ... 1634899664

You're more generous than I. Rather than improve working conditions and wages (or, rather more pointedly, enforce the fucking existing law) in low end, high labour, distinctly anti-social jobs, it's easier to just fill them with people in increasingly parlous situations who can either knuckle down or fuck off into the streets.

Not happy about telling law abiding HGV drivers to fuck off back to Poland but restore free movement tomorrow and there’ll still be labour shortages. Raising wages to poach workers from other parts of the economy won’t solve the problem. Recidivist rates are appallingly high and a route back in to society that pays will reduce them. And I’d rather a Tory implemented the policy (of course Raab’s Brexiter with his back against the wall and doesn’t care or believe in it) as it will be tabloid fodder poison for Labour to even suggest it.

Second jobs: Voters decide if MPs have right priorities, says Dominic Raab
How many people on here are aware of their MP's "side hustle(s)", as I believe the fashionable term for a second job to be?
I've no idea of my MP's other jobs, other than he owns a farm?

It's a great populist move. 'The people know best, so leave it up to them. What, you don't trust the people to know???'
Do I trust the electorate to know how best to run politics? Not really. That's not an insult, it's realistic.

A certain recent referendum proved that.

The electorate select their MP every 5 years to represent them.
The electorate should not be involved in day-to-day disciplinary actions when those MPs contravene the rules.

That question assumes Scaab is capable of thinking things through. Possibly assuming a bit much there Kreuzy.
