I’m glad Sharon Graham put that clear water between Labours current leadership and Unite.
As a trade Unionist it appalls me, Unite really are a shit show.

Who have they arrested, Jimmy Hoffa? Large construction projects are an effective opportunity to launder illicit cash. Like building hotels.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “South Wales police has executed warrants as part of an investigation into allegations of bribery, fraud and money laundering.

All ammo for Labour's opponents. No amount of trying to dress it up as a cleansing of the Augean Stables will work, no amount of comparing it with Russian money will work.

Little by little Corbyn is alienating what remains of his support base.

His conclusion is that only more demos will bring about peace.
I was inspired to see so many young people on the streets of Moscow and of St Petersburg, of many cities all across Russia, saying it wasn’t done in their name and they didn’t want that war — exactly the same language many of us used on the eve of the invasion of Iraq when we said it’s not done in our name, in the same way Americans said that about the Vietnam War.
So, it is the voices of people all around the world searching for and demanding peace that are the voices we should be listening to at the present time.

It's a genuinely-held position of irrelevance, but its function is to defend a bunch of genocide deniers and Putin proxies.
That.

Well for starters, I’ve not heard anyone making anything of the unite arrests in terms of attacking Labour?

True and it should be noted that the news has been dominated by Ukraine and Rishi Sunak rather than what has happened at Unite.

Because the Iraq and Vietnam demos prevented/ended war? Of course they did.

A six form politics lecturer commented that he’d be hard pressed to give that vapid polemic a pass if it was an essay. Its as bad as John Redwood’s Tweets.

As I said a couple of days ago the press made so much of Unite and Graham lambasting Starmer that beyond the plebs it’s not hitting much.
If it had been Unison or GMB it may have been more of an issue, they aren’t even the biggest union anymore.

I jacked in Twitter a year ago. It really is an absolutely terrible guide as to what people in general are really thinking about.
