I'm not saying it can't happen here but one difference between here and America is that in America there is a large evangelical movement over there which here we don't have.
Its not called evangelical here, its called Catholicism

So by that logic, the father should also have a say; because the current leader of the party he belongs to, has, in the past, decided that he has the final say in which of his mistresses has an abortion

You're also ignoring the fact that abortion has been a hot button issue in American politics for decades whereas here it isn't.

As in the US, Catholicism is a good supply line for Brett Kavanaugh- Jacob Rees Mogg rightwingers. But as a political force, it's not really all that as anti-abortion force. Always been a Roman Catholic Left who have been against abortion (but I think only Rachael Maskell and a couple of others like that now). See Ireland for evidence of where the rank and file are.

Don't know if anyone is following the live hearing, but this opinion is looking a bit less plausible.

Not implausible, mendacious.

This is the level of Republicans. Tweeting out the Pizzagate guy who's tweeting about a car Trump wasn't in.

Mr PIzzacunt is now onto "Trump wasn't riding in the car I just posted as evidence the testimony wasn't true".

Imagine he’d taken the wheel, he’d be driving around like Bruce Willis in a car chase. Stop poncing around and lock him up.

As if things weren't already crazy enough, it seems we have now reached the witness-tampering stage of proceedings.
If the Dems somehow still have a Senate majority after the midterms, they should hold another impeachment vote re Trump, just to apply to their GOP colleagues what I believe the French refer to as "Le Discomfort".

They've got a couple of possibilities in the Senate, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. A few potential losses though.

Oh I'm sure they'll lose both houses later this year, this is the Dems we're talking about after all. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong, though.
I suspect that to many American voters, all of the current rage re Roe and the J6 findings will be mere distant memories by November.

Doubt it'll change much in a state like Missouri. Elsewhere: maybe, but as I said before November is a long way off, and American voters don't seem to have much of an attention span anymore.
The recent shift in the polls, from broadly +4 GOP to +5 Dems is at least a bit encouraging.
