Starmer’s been speaking to Erdogan, per the Turkish Government on social media.
He could do with making a statement on social media or at least retweeting Macron.

100% agree. If he doesn’t say something it will genuinely be shameful.
The state visit can be bumped down the road. This ambush on Putin’s behalf/order cannot pass without comment.

Starmer is speaking to Zelenskyy this evening and then calling Türkiye, one of the strongest partners in Nato, rather than getting involved in a shit-fight with MAGAs.
"Stepping up and stepping in", one might call it, even though Europe appears to be uniting as one on Twitter.

Spokesman has repeated “unwavering support for Ukraine”.
Starmer has spoken to Zelensky and Trump.
This fuss all seems very Chris Morris.

So rather than supporting Zelensky on Twitter, he’s actually been doing it personally on the phone?
That’s not my idea of shameful.

And while it’s easy to think that it’s a waste of time talking to Trump, the Washington Post is saying the US is considering halting all shipments to Ukraine.
So well might Sir Keir have been on the phone.

That’s all great, but it needs to be public and unanimous with the rest of the world *as well*.

The only "shameful" in this movie is Trump. His wee bitch, and the twat who wanted to talk about outfits are just extras.

What do you think is happening at the conference?

Hopefully, quite a lot, very vocally and very clearly in support of our allies.
A statement has now been put out. I would have preferred it to have been stronger, but it is there. I hope actions follow the words.

It has become quite clear this week that Trump is clearly keen to get his hands on Ukraine's mineral reserves, but if he is prepared to abandon Ukraine if they don't dance to his tune it would suggest that may be he have a deal with Putin whereby he gets a share of the minerals if Ukraine is defeated by Russia.

The suit barb was just plain weird when you've got Musk doing White House pressers in t-shirts and fucking baseball caps.

He has.
More importantly, he's rallying support for Zelensky.

Well the Russian military brass are crooked as a dog's hind leg so I wouldn't be surprised if some of that tech found its way into China or even possibly Iran's hands.

The days of posting are over.
Let the suited fash post.
Let he remaining good guys spend their time organising.
Build a strong alliance.
Ensure that Putin, his nation and their lapdogs in DC meet hostility every time they look abroad.

Well so far it’s overwhelmingly brought everyone who isn’t already tainted by Putin together. Part of me wonders whether this was the intent - make Trump think he’s isolated so he sides ever more closely with Russia. But I’m more hopeful that it’s backfired and Putin was hoping for fractures and discord rather than universal condemnation.

Probably thought it was being clever having Starmer and Macron over first.
