A councillor has been suspended by the Conservative party after she made comments suggesting parenting skills were partly to blame for autism cases.

Angela Sandison told Solihull Council's children's services scrutiny board meeting that some mothers should be encouraged not to spend much time on their phones.

Ms Sandison has since apologised and stepped down from the committee

The board's chairman said on Twitter she had also had the Tory whip removed.

Michael Gough said: "The leader has informed Angela Sandison of her suspension from the Conservative group, pending further investigations as a result of the comments made at the children's services scrutiny meeting last week."

Just another case of "Mental illnesses are all made up. Pull yourself together and get on with it" which seems to be prevalent among Tories.

Malcolm Offord, who runs a private equity firm in Scotland and who has donated more than £100,000 to the Conservative party, has been given a peerage and will join the government as a minister in the Scotland Office.

This Offord guy gets mobbed when he walks round Stoke on Trent or Hartlepool. They carried him on their shoulders to Westminster and said "Put this guy in the Lords and give him a ministerial post now, Boris!"

The care for those with Mental health illnesses only existed during lockdown….once that ended it was “made up” again.

An ambulance driving forumite in another place has reported the cretinocracy is now writing to ambulance drivers, who have class C on their licences, inviting them to become lorry drivers. These are the same ambulance drivers that we have such a surplus of the BBC is reporting in NE England and in Scotland squaddies are having to fill in for them at weekends.

So women, first of all, need to be streetwise about when they can be arrested and when they can’t be arrested. She should never have been arrested and submitted to that. Perhaps women need to consider in terms of the legal process, to just learn a bit about that legal process.

Whilst Tory ministers talk about a high wage economy many of their policies are actually pushing wages down. The school where I work has recently been taken over by an academy and the first thing they have done is cut the wages of teaching assistants by 10%. Given that the government is committed to forcing more schools into becoming academies this will mean thousands of teaching assistants are set to see their low wages get even lower.

It's fine as long as someone can make bank off of it. Freedom innit.

It's important to keep in mind the case of Jean Charles de Menezes. The disparity between what he actually did, and what the police (and subsequently the press) reported he did was stark. The conclusions drawn from said disinformation will tell you everything you need to know about how doing nothing wrong will protect you, and how the Great British public will react to anyone not instantly obeying the fuzz.
