The Telegraph continues its simping

Boris Johnson latest news: Allies condemn 'sheer vindictiveness' of partygate report into former PM

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/20 ... shi-sunak/
Mr Johnson’s supporters poured scorn on the report following its publication. Sir Simon Clarke, a former Cabinet minister, said he was “amazed at the harshness of today’s report” and the “punishment is absolutely extraordinary to the point of sheer vindictiveness”.

Tory former minister Sir James Duddridge mocked the findings and suggested Mr Johnson’s critics should “go the full way” and put the ex-premier “in the stocks”.

Meanwhile, Nadine Dorries, a former culture secretary, said “any Conservative MP who would vote for this report is fundamentally not a Conservative and will be held to account by members and the public” as she said “deselections may follow”.

Remember when those showbiz types used to come out and simp for the Krays.
I know they've been a bit naughty, but isn't it time to forgive...

That's what these arselickers sound like.

They can fuck right off.

I don't want to crib my best lines from James O'B but even he baulked at comparisons to Pol Pot.

Getting a sense of proportion, he's probably not even worse than Trump.
But he's here and he's damaging my country in a way Trump likely never would.

Can we settle on "worst living mammal".

Or maybe team him with Ginny, Wiggy and Moggy as "Worst four living mammals".

Moggy was on Channel 4 earlier smearing Harman and Jenkin whilst at the same time arguing that he didn't believe in smearing people. When asked if he was embarrassed at receiving a Knighthood from Johnson he just argued that patronage oiled the wheels of politics. Just like Michael Gove he has perfected the art of speaking utter bollox but in a way which appears to be very polite and completely reasonable.

Oh yes, "It's not me; it's the system". Missing the point that over the years he's purposely become a master of the system and all its little quirks.

And he's had opportunities to reform it, and what did he do? Make MPs queue for ages, and waste money on bound copies of Hansard because they look nice on bookshelves.

Problem with claiming it was the system is he *was* the system. And it was a shit one.

And so he bloody well should. There's people out there who need legal aid and can't get it.

Boris Johnson should pay back the public money used to cover a £245,000 bill for his lawyers during the Partygate inquiry, opposition MPs say.

An inquiry by MPs found the former prime minister had deliberately misled Parliament over lockdown parties.

The top lawyers defending Mr Johnson were paid for with taxpayer funds.

Labour says Prime Minister Rishi Sunak should demand Mr Johnson "pays back every penny" of public money used to fund his legal defence.

The government has sought to justify the decision by claiming there is a precedent for supporting former ministers with legal representation...

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-65918866.amp
But the government has not been able to name a single example of a former minister receiving taxpayer-funded legal support for a parliamentary inquiry.

If only Johnson had taken advice from another taxpayer-funded lawyer, this could all have been avoided a long while back…
