Taste the bitterness. I think he’s finally given up on the hope that Joanne is going to notice and love him.

I always thought it weird that the LGB Alliance seemed so happy to have Baroness Nicholson as a supporter given her actual record on gay rights. This, however, is going it some even by her standards.

General news roundup: I thought it was a terrible idea, for reasons of optics if nothing else, for Corbyn to offer Shami Chakrabati a peerage when he did. This is not better.
Also, it would appear that Rowling is at war with Butlins.

Well at least Rowling isn’t even pretending any more so it’s easy for people to see where she stands.
Not so long ago people would have said much the same thing about gay men using men’s toilets in case there were children present (with the obvious and tired old inference that homosexuality = guaranteed pervert). It’s funny how it’s always the ones screaming “won’t somebody think of the children” who are absolutely *obsessed* with inspecting other people’s genitals and concerning themselves with how they use a lavatory.

There seems a connection here with another ism. You can't be seen to be racist so you concentrate your bigotry on Muslims. Ditto gays and trans.

Interesting article about the fuss made at the Paris Olympics about female boxers.
To cut a long story short: Putin.

If I were in the process of being sued for defamation I would probably be attempting to create the impression that I was a remarkably normal man unjustly accused and would absolutely avoid doing things like this.

No one should be doing this to anyone, let alone someone from a community known for being the targets of some serious hate.
If he keeps this up he is going to get someone badly beaten and quite possibly killed.

There’s a grim synchronicity in this appointment being announced not long after Monbiot’s article on the mistreatment of ME patients was published.

It’s pretty banal to observe that how people are online doesn’t necessarily match how they behave out in the world, so it’s a genuine shock to see a video of him shouting the same weird slurs he employs on Twitter at an actual person stood next to him.
A while back, when was going on about trans women using the women’s bogs and how if he ever saw that happening he’d certainly know what to do about it, someone on another forum predicted that he was going to end up getting his collar felt for assault. It struck me as alarmist at the time but I’m beginning to wonder.

Trans relationships are of little value and not like real ones.
In other news, a trans mate of ours left hospital today after donating one of his kidneys to his wife. Both are in fine fettle.
The kidnologist reckoned it one of the finest specimens they have ever seen.

I have some arm’s length awareness of Wessely in a work capacity. Or rather, his professional actions when faced with evidence that contradicts his conclusions.
Let’s just say he does not take criticism well. And that an early retirement would be a marvellous idea.

I first heard his name in connection with Gulf War syndrome and only read about his ME work later on. Suffice it to say that I’m not really surprised to learn he’s beloved of the Spiked and Spectator crowd.

Rowling has decided another award-winning non-white athlete who has come from a life of poverty to be top of their profession must obviously be either secretly trans or gender abnormal, and has made her anger about the gall of this woman daring to exist while not conforming to her ideals known to her followers on Musk’s bigotry-amplifying hate site.
As said elsewhere, when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

I get that gender-critical is a protected characteristic, but this is a socially liberal political party. They're not allowed to say "this person doesn't share our values"?
Lib Dems ordered to pay £14,000 in damages to former candidate claiming discrimination over gender-critical views
The Liberal Democrats have been ordered to pay £14,000 in damages to a former parliamentary candidate who feels she was driven out of the party and barred from standing as an MP in a row over her gender-critical views, PA Media reports.

If true, and "barred from standing as an MP" suggests we aren't getting the whole story.
It would me most peculiar.
Imagine a situation where political parties could not ensure their candidates shared their values.
But "barred from standing as an MP" (You have to get elected first), is crying out for Homer Simpson clarifying...
"Barred from standing as a
Lib Dem MP"
