Good to see another spate of judicial appointments recently, including some in states that are likely to be very tightly contested in future elections (such as Ohio and Georgia). I suppose Biden is working on the rather gloomy/realistic assumption that whichever vacancies aren't filled by the November midterms, aren't going to be filled at all beyond then.

Yeah, but it's in California, which tries to be sensible on guns within Federal Law. So that proves that no restrictions at all work, or something.

Time for another post of "'MURICA!!! LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!!1 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ ✝️ πŸ”« πŸ’΅"

Posted on this occasion without comment...

...except to quote one of the biggest arch-icons of 20th century American Conservatism, Barry Goldwater - whom your respective deity only knows what the "Reel 'muricans" would say about him these days.

I can't remember the exact state at the moment but their local Republican party are campaigning to remove the minimum age restriction for marriage

A cynical person could reach the conclusion that it's all really about controlling women.

The pro-life thing does look a bit suspect when you see Covid performance by state...

Highest blue state is New Jersey, which got hammered before people realized Covid was properly a thing.

Actual US Senator. What is it about Obama that she might say this?

Well, there was this 10 years ago:

Various sources I've checked with reckon another 2008-style crash was inevitable though they were probably hoping it wouldn't be as soon as next year. We'll see if the cost-of-living crisis is what tips the domino line of cheaply available credit over.
